“Outstanding customer service”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Rothenburg which was enhanced by this hotel's proximity to the town square in this pedestrian town. The breakfast was tasty with many options. As others have said, parking is convenient and secure in a garage up the street. We were especially impressed with the staff who pried the suitcases out of our hands to carry them up the stairs for us and Dagmar Sackenreuther who went above and beyond in her pursuit of belongings we left at a previous hotel in Austria. We even received e-mails from Dagmar upon returning the the USA updating us on the status of our lost items.

I wanted to stay back here since I was there a few years ago and found it really good. I was more impressed this time! First off, the staff were even more friendlier than I remembered!!! The car park was a nice garage just around back, the room was spacious and clean and the bathroom was upgraded nicely and was big as well. We walked Rothenburg and ate elsewhere but the restaurant was always full so I assume it is pretty good. The morning continental breakfast was very good again and had everything we wanted or could have wanted. Excellent wifi as well, never got cutoff and was free. Our room again was overlooking the street and offered nice views to just sit there and people watch. Will definitely be back to RodT and will stay here again for sure!!

Room Tip: I liked the view of the street to people watch or just look down the old streets. never had a probl...

We really couldn't fault this hotel from the outset - certainly, we were grateful for the weary member of staff who stayed up till 1.40 am to let us in! Parking is handily tucked around the back of the premises.

The entrance of the hotel seems somewhat at odds with the period exterior. The high, brightly lit ceiling is dazzling after the darkened, candlelit streets. The decoration is very sleek and modern, which in itself is fine, but jars a little with the medieval charm of the town. I also felt a little intrusive having to walk through the restaurant under the curious gaze of the diners in order to reach the stairs to the guest rooms.

We followed the winding steps - beware if you don't do stairs - to our room on the top floor. It was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with pale wood furniture. We were at the back which overlooks the backyard, but there was plenty of daylight. The beds - even the sofa beds - were comfortable and the room was warm without being stuffy.

We enjoyed our breakfasts here. Excellent coffee, and a good selection of fresh bread and cold meats, scrambled eggs and bacon, but I would have been happier with a better selection of fresh fruit.

We took our leave on December 23rd - the hotel was closing for Christmas after check-out. As we handed over our keys and bid farewell, the guesthouse owners were exchanging hugs and warm wishes with guests who had become yearly visitors for the past decade. What better proof of good hospitality can you have than that?

Great location in the heart of the town. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was a bit smelly and not sure of the cause. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious. Bathroom shower only and small.

Food in restaurant was good. We had a dinner there and breakfast.

Rothenburg is a lovely town with a great atmospheric Xmas market.

This is a fantastic little hotel, right next to the town square. They even had parking, which was our biggest challenge in other, larger cities. The hotel helped direct us to the parking then helped carry the bags to the room. Excellent wifi and good breakfast makes this place a winner!

The location of this hotel is less than 30 meters from the main square of this medieval city. The rooms are clean and comfortable. This hotel serves wonderful Bavarian meals. I've stayed in this hotel many times over the past 20 years and recommend it highly. Like most hotels built during the medieval period, it does not have an elevator to the second floor.

I arrived by car to Rothenburg, and couldn't believe that I was allowed to drive all the way to the hotel.
Parking in the rear of the hotel, I went to the reception, and they offered a parkingspot in a garage 50 meters from the hotel.
Luckily, the host showed me the way, so I didn't damage my car in the narrow alleys.
The service was great, and the location is dead center of thw city - literally feet from the town square, where at night there is a watchman (one in german and one in english), telling stories about the city and offering free walks of the old town.
