This hotel was fantastic. The owner was very helpful the rooms were clean and spacious, and the breakfast was the best we had on our entire trip including breads, fruits, meats, cheese, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice, cereal, rolls, sweet breads, and eggs. We were encouraged by our hosts to use the breakfast materials to make sandwiches to take along for our lunches at no extra cost.

We loved this hotel. The owners were terrific, flexible and accommodating. It is located about 100 yards from the old city so it is conveniently located. It is also only a mile or so from the train station so a short taxi ride or an easy walk. The breakfasts were excellent. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The price was great. We couldn't have asked for anything more from the hotel and I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

The couple who own and run this hotel were very accommodating to our family with 3 young children. Always a cheery smile when greeted. The breakfast was so delicious and quite the production is put out for the guest. A large table (with our room number) was was waiting for us downstairs complete with an American flag as the center piece. Every dish and glass was nicely placed. The wife brought us so much food and there was was plenty to go around. There was a small toy area that added a homey touch for the kids to turn to once they were done eating. Our room was small, but very comfortable. Slept so well. Short walk to city wall. Very well worth the stay here!!

We arrived after dark mid December. Our host Georg was out to the carpark before we got out of the car and with good English had us into the foyer showing us around then back to the car where he grabbed both bags and we were off to our room that was wonderfully decorated as a comfortable domestic suite. The whole Gasthof had a family atmosphere where you felt honoured to enjoy the hospitality of their 100 plus years family ownership. Georg had information on everything to see in Rothenburg odT and breakfast was and the decorations was an experience to be treasured. Only another appointment stopped us staying on
We rate it best place we stayed at in 21 days of Germany/Austria.

Upon arrival to Rothenburg, my wife & I came across this lovely hotel. Having no reservations, the owner Georg accommodated us a room in his hotel that was full at a very reasonable rate. The room was small but clean with two single beds and had a large bathroom with plenty of space. Breakfast was very good and plentiful, not buffet style, instead was served by a hostess. Just a short walk to the walled city with a city map provided by Georg. We would defiantly stay here again if our travels return us to Rothenburg.

Room Tip: Make reservations ahead of time. Rooms to the rear are quieter.

My wife and I stayed here in mid-December. We were warmly greeted by Georg. He showed us around, took us to our room and gave us a little history of the Hotel. He gave us a map and directions to the Old City. The entrance was very close, the advertisement said 300 meters, I think was was less. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and service was likewise. We thought the room was quite spacious, nicely decorated and the bathroom was huge. Great location, wonderful hosts and very nice room. We would definitely stay here again.

We were welcomed by both Georg and his wife as soon as we arrived at the car park. The kindness and helpfulness of our hosts made our stay in Rothenburg memorable and most enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble and they took care to ensure that we were looked after well.

Breakfast was absolutely superb with plenty of variety. The rooms where typical of a town hotel, of a good size and very clean. The beds were comfortable and we slept extremely well.

The hotel is situated just a 10 minute easy walk from the town centre.

If we return to Rothenburg, we would definitely stay here again.
