I enjoyed this bar. There's no pool table, or darts, or anything "fun" to do- it's simply a bar where you relax and talk with friends. The bartenders were nice and the drinks were good. They have very good deals on happy hour, girl's night, etc.

We ended our European trip at Wurzburg which is generally recognized as the start of the Romantic Road. We arrived in the afternoon and only had a few hours plus some morning time. It is located on the Main river in a valley between bluffs like many other old cities such as Prague and Salzburg. We were on the castle side. It loomed above us on a bluff along the river. Our hotel was on the river. The street was at one time the first line of defense as evidenced by the walls. Steps led to a nice walking path along the river. It is a very pretty walk with locals sunbathing and playing in the grassy area. After a few blocks we reached the old bridge, narrower and not as long but like the Charles bridge in Prague. Once across we were in the Old Town. The street was wide with shops and various attractions on each side. Wandering thru this area reminded me of Salzburg, Fussen, Heidelberg, and Prague though on a smaller scale(except for Fussen). It was a very pleasant way to end our day followed by a leisurely dinner at a local restaurant. Not as crowded as Salzburg or Prague but many of the same attributes. In the morning we planned to visit the castle but passed because we were to lazy to make the walk and were pretty much ready to head home.

The first gasp when you go into Wurzburg is the fabulous "Alte Mainbruke" bridge which is a mini King Charles Bridge like the one in Prague. The difference being the Wurzburg bridge is not mobbed with loads of tourists!

Wurzburg itself is well signposted and has a great Walking tour mapped out for you to follow. I must admit we felt rather tired by the time we got to the Residenz Plaz and ended up walking back to the town square through a few run down back streets. At no point did we feel unsafe though.

The restaurants on the main square are reasonable too. We were expecting "Tourist" prices but no, 7 euros for a main meal - excellent value!
