Stayed for 2 nights as part of tour of southern Germany.
The hotel was chosen on the strength of TA reviews.
The hotel is located on a main road into Wurzburg - the bedroom was quite small, overlooking the main road ( we were told all double rooms overlook the road).
The windows appear to be recessed back from the main building - whi ch makes the bedroom even darker.
By closing the electric shutter, windows and curtain - and turning on the electric fan, you really couldn't hear the road!
The room and shower room was spotless.
Having parked opposite for a few minutes we were then shown the underground car park - just a minute away, which worked well.
The breakfast was in the vaulted basement and had much to offer.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Would I return to Wurzburg? -probably.
Would I return to the Gruener Baum? Probably not - too noisy and bedrooms too small & dark - despite it being well located at (almost) the other end of the old bridge.

We spent one night in Würzburg and found the staff to be very friendly. Our room was nicely furnished and clean, but it was in the middle of a heat wave and quite stuffy. They had provided a fan, which was nice. Since the room looked out over a relatively busy street, we didn't leave it open over night, and the headlights of passing cars shone through the curtains.

The breakfast buffet served in the vaulted cellar was a real highlight! The buffet included something for every taste and was attractively arranged.

The room was clean, spacious, and had plenty of hot water. All staff members we met were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast cellar is charming with a wide variety of food and beverages. We would stay here again if we return to Würzburg, and would recommend it highly.

Great hotel and a little quirky. A 7-8 minute gentle walk into town, strolling over a beautiful bridge where you can watch the longest lock we've ever seen and stop at the bridge bar for a glass of local wine for €4. Rooms are clean. Bathroom was lovely and shower powerful enough. Hairdryer available along with mini bar and snacks. Staff lovely and helpful. Breakfast was one of the best we've had in Europe - plentiful with meats, cheeses, eggs, fruit, yogurts, breads, pastries, and a large selection of coffees. Great value.
