Excellent, excellent, excellent! All dishes were delicious: asparagus cream soup, pork chops, pork belly rib with beer sauce, and cappuccino parfait with chocolate cake for dessert. Delicious! Even the kids dishes were very good for them. If the weather permits, ask for a table outside i. The terrace and the views of the bridge and the castle are fantastic.

A charming restaurant! Warm, homey, and inviting, with rich wooded decor and cozy seating. The inside of this restaurant is lovely, but we visited on a sunny, crisp fall day and were able to get seats on the deck overlooking the river, with breathtaking views of the fortress. The view alone is worth ordering a meal here, but luckily the quality of the food matches the beauty of the surroundings. Alte Mainmuhle does have English menus, and the servers are quite attentive and eager to help diners choose the right order.

The Crayfish Soup is better than any bisque I ever tasted. Traditional cheeses are great to share, and make for a perfect mid-day snack. We ordered the local Silvaner white wine and it was crisp, refreshing, and paired well with our soups and cheeses. This establishment also takes credit cards. I encourage anyone visiting Wurzburg to enjoy lunch at this restaurant, and then take a post-meal stroll across the bridge. A perfect afternoon!

A flourmill in the past, this restaurant has 2 levels with 2 balconies. It has kept all the architectural features of its past. Warm rustic atmosphere. You can't find a better view towards Alte Mainbrücke and Marienberg Festung (Old Bridge & Fortress), if you find a seat available outside. Besides the main attractions around you, Main river is an attraction itself. Always busy and always interesting. Boats pass by, different kinds of birds fly and land in front of you. Far away from boring! But even in the inside rooms you have a wonderful view around.
The dishes are typically German and mainly Franconian. There is an open grill for certain dishes. Service is good and the waiters friendly and polite. Reasonable prices for the given quality. Wine and beer excellent.

Inspired by all the positive reviews, we ate here last July on our way down to Italy, and we were not disappointed. Booked a table online about a week in advance and was a bit concerned when the confirmation suggested the dress code was 'smart casual'. It was a blisteringly hot day in Wurzburg and I was relieved to see on the balcony plenty of diners in t-shirts and shorts as I was. The menu is limited but I guess most people are there for the traditional German fayre it offers anyway. Waiter and waitresses were all friendly. It was also excellent value - 5 main courses, 2 beers, 2 glasses of wine and 3 soft drinks came to around €70 from memory. Didn't get a balcony table but still had a good view of the Marienberg fortress. All in all certainly worth a visit if in Wurzburg.

We celebrated a big "5" Birthday with friends at this place. We got there early to the Alte Mainbrücke to have a glass of secco (Franconian Champagne) while standing gazing at the scenery, watching people go by and just chit chat with our friends. It was rather cold, so we asked at the Alte Mainmühle if we could come in a bit earlier. Even so our reserved table was still occupied, when people left at another table they set it up quickly to accommodate us, because we wanted a view unto the Festung Marienberg. We had a grand time, my only complaInt was that we wanted to sit much much longer. The food came quickly and every dish we had was very very good, three of us loved our food, we ate the Hochzeitsessen (a Franconian specialty) some very good fish my friend loved, her husband had Tartar, which he loved, my husband was disappointed with his Schäufele. It was good, but not big enough for him. Service was very good and we need to go back a few more times, while here in Franconia.
