“Interesting but a little fake”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

The place is original but the "soldiers" there are ordinary people that work taking pictures with tourists. It seemed only a street with some tourists thinking they are on the middle of history.

“Good historical value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014 via mobile

Located in the city, easily accessible by the tour buses. Nice setting and feel of the Cold War period. You can take picture with the guards, but my attempt to take a portrait shot of one of the guards was turned down. Not sure if it is an individual resistance or a regulation.

“Interesting.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

This is interesting, but what it represents is the greater story here. There we actor "guards" dressed in military attire for the "look"...and there is an interesting museum located a few yards down the street with many interesting artifacts...I greatly enjoyed the museum!

“New part of the exhibition”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

The checkpoint is as it has been for a number of years. Two difference were noticeable this time. One, the presence of 'American' soldiers charging for photographs to be taken of them [with you too, if you wished], and the other, a new site explaining lots of information about the Wall and its attempted escapees - on an open piece of ground next to the Checkpoint.

“A must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

This museum shows best how Berlin was divided under the cold War. Also how courageous people put all their fantasy to escape from a country behind the wall. As I was working many times in the DDR and I know so well how it was, there was a special value for me to see the exhibition. Have been at Checkpoint Charlie several times and it was always worth a visit.
