“a remote newly-built conference-type hotel”
Reviewed 11 December 2010

The hotel is not so far from some university campus and is dedicated mainly for conferences, so has a fine conference facilities. Otherwise the location is a bit remote from everything else in Berlin. Suitable for getting away with colleagues. Sometimes there are several conferences going on in parallel, and it's tricky to book the hotel to stay on the conference site, or anything else close enough.

It has a restaurant/catering place on site and a bar, the quality of meals and drinks are ok.

The living rooms are small - mainly for sleeping, not really living. They have huge glass windows on the outside (meant to be fashion?), so that people from the outside can see you. As the hotel has been built relatively recently, everything there is still in order/in a good condition.

One can park freely on the street next to the hotel, that's a plus!

location next to the Freie Universität campus in Berlin Dahlem, very beautiful simplistic modern architecture (Jahn) with large class fronts and thoughtful installations, clean and convenient rooms, weakness during my stay: the breakfast buffet and the reception in the morning were quite crowded, and the breakfast wasnt impressive

This is a very nice brand new hotel only 20 minutes out of the city on the metro which is just around the corner. Service is good and the rooms are clean. Prices are reasonable, mini bar beer 2.60 euros, internet 5 euros for the first hour each day and 1 euro there after. It is a conference location but would also suit any traveler, you can use public transport at any time to get back from the city.

Stayed 4 nights here, as this was the designated conference hotel--the conference center is connected to the hotel--for our international group of 80 delegates coming from 18 countries. Everything was delightful and exceeded expectations. The hotel is new and the rooms are very nice and well appointed for business travelers. My wife was with me, and we were both happy with the room. The bathroom is large for European standards. Ask for bathrobes, as they were not in the room but arrived in minutes following a call to the reception. The staff is friendly, helpful, competent, and all have a good command of English. The breakfast was plentiful and with lots of variety of cold and hot food. The bar (called the Faculty Club) was quiet, but has a great selection of wines and beer on tap that are reasonably priced, and it is open late. We didn't try the restaurant, but it looked very nice and seemed to serve dinner until about 23:00.
The location is at the Friei University of Berlin, which is in Dahlem, which is in the southeast section of Berlin. I would not have ever found this area or this hotel if it had not been for the conference. Dahlem is quiet, quaint, clean and safe. The hotel is 2 blocks from the Dahlem-Dorf (U3) U-Bahn stop (it's the ninth stop from the central Wittenberger Platz), which provides cheap and quick access to the rest of the city (trains seemed to run every 10 minutes) as well as to Tegel airport and the Hautbanhof.
There are two excellent restaurants within a block of the hotel. Piaggio has excellent Italian food and pizza and is open until midnight, and was so good we ate there twice. Luisas has German and Italian food, and also features a huge Biergarten, which in nicer weather would be a place that anyone could spend a long time.
There is a very interesting museum just across the street from the hotel, and there is also a decent grocery store a block up the street.

This hotel is not exactly situated in the centre of Berlin, but still I found it comfortably close to all the sights. It's 20 minutes by bus to the centre of former West-Berlin and 200 metres from the Dahlem Dorf U-bahn, from which you can easily (12-15 min) get to Wittenbergplatz and from there it's only a few minutes by bus to Potsdamer Platz, Brandenburger Tor and Unter Den Linden. The Dahlem area itself is also worth a visit; it's a very cosy and lush neighborhood with numerous italian trettorias and berliner biergardens. "Louise" is a lovely Biergarden just around the corner, which also serves exellent salads and pizzas and other international dishes. The Seminaris Campus hotel is stylish, modern and relaxed at the same time and meets any demand or expectations you might have. Would recommend it to anyone going to Berlin, wheter it's for business or leisure!

Stayed for a business trip. Was great to have the conference rooms in a separate building, but close enough to nip back to the room if needed in between meetings. It was very hot in the building as their is so much glass and it will be even hotter in the summer. However they have planted vines outside and once these have grown, this will be an incredibly nice place to stay for business. However I do not recommend this hotel as a base for sight-seeing in Berlin, as it is too far out from the centre.
