When we arrived in Berlin yesterday I was looking for some traditional food and in small portions. We stopped at Mesa because of the good reviews and the idea of tapas.
Two of us shared: the avocado lettuce salad (good some brown leads), the crispy chicken (cool presentation on a hanging stick but I do not eat chicken wings however my travelling partner does and said they good), goat cheese on apricot (good), sausage curry as it's a local tradition (I thought it was decent overall, couldn't finish it though) and we shared a vegetable ragout which was mainly turnips in a light white sauce. Overall the food was fine. I had a glass.of white wine and we had a pitcher of tap water. (The pitcher was very yellowed which was throwing us off and the water had a faint hint of fish??). The bill came to ?39 which we thought was reasonable. We tipped the waitress ?6 because we weren't sure about the tipping customs and she was very surprised and happy.
