I stayed here for three nights on business. The room was a suite. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was modern and well equipped.
I like the fact I had a fridge and tea making equipment.
Initially being at the back I thought I would not get traffic noise. As I arrived very late I went straight to bed. I had hardly gone to sleep when I was disturbed by the noise of the garbage bins being emptied.(4AM) this went on for at least 5 minutes
The second night was not so bad. The third night I only git to bed around midnight unfortunately the staff then came and emptied the class bottles into the bins, this lasted at least 10 minutes then much go my horror the bins where emptied at 6 AM. So sleep was in very short supply. I feel strongly that they need to resolved this .
The staff were all very helpful and friendly. WIFI was not free much to my surprise.
The breakfast was very good.
This is a good hotel but the procedure for emptying the garbage bins ruined it.

The rooms are OK but small and a/c wasn't working properly. The staff is not customer friendly. They charged us 25 euro extra for arriving early while they didn't do so when our friends came 10 minutes earlier- liars.
On the last day someone put the non-disturb sign on our door so our room wasn't clean even tough it should have been.
The cost of breakfast is high and not worth it and for some reason they charge you higher if you tell them you want breakfast on your second day - wierd. WiFi is extremely pricey, all over the world hotels gives free WiFi or at a decent price but not Leonardo.
Don't waste your money - go somewhere else.

1) Location: Four stops eastbound on Tram 4 from where the TXL bus drops you at its terminus on Alexanderplatz. PERFECT, as long as you know that your €2.60 ticket covers that transfer and which line to transfer onto (get off at Am Humboldthain). A longish slog with luggage on foot from the Alex, though.
2) Staff: PERFECT. Lovely friendly helpful young people, although none of them with whom I spoke knew enough about Berlin to fill a thimble. "Ask the concierge," with a point of the chin. And indeed he was savvy.
3) Breakfast: PERFECT... No, wait a moment. Two-day rotation between sausage links / grilled half-tomatoes and sausage nuggets / broiled mushrooms along with a very decent selection of breads, cold meats, either smoked mackerel or flabby low-end salmon, unchallenging cheeses. OK, ALMOST PERFECT. But your Thermos flask of good coffee stays with you at the table. Maybe PERFECT... no, the Pflaumenmus was hopeless. Sorry. VERY GOOD.
4) Room: **erm** Were those bloodstains on the carpet? Some other bodily fluid? Deep cleaning in order. Good bathroom with shower stall, lots of hot water, acceptable work-station, bed, and the rest. But those bloodstains **shudder** ACCEPTABLE.
5) Internet: Horrible, horrible, horrible. Pay an arm for in-room WiFi "access good to check e-mail"; useless. Pay an arm and a leg for ditto "speedy access"; no speedier. VERY embittering. The back lobby has an "internet access station". Hah. Same slow-slog swamp, with the added feature of crashes and non-functional kit. FAIL WORSE THAN FAIL DREADFUL.

If you need to work or to be in touch with colleagues, this is NOT THE HOTEL FOR YOU.

Mind you, this hotel lives from group bookings -- two coachloads of Israelis, a coachload of Japanese or of Italians or of Spaniards at a go, all by the looks of it retired / on vacation -- so the management likely can't be troubled to upgrade this aspect of the stay. However, you, Ms or Mr Worker Bee, have options, even as a budget traveller; two IBIS within a stone's throw. At IBIS, at least, Internet access works. Here it's a disaster.

Took a group of 31 colleagues on a trip to Berlin and stayed at this lovely hotel. In East Berlin but do not let that put you off, very close to Alexanderplatz and a gateway to all the sights. We took a bus tour from just outside the Park Hotel so 10 minutes walk from the hotel and you can jump on and off the bus so can get to know the area before deciding what to see.We went to the German National museum and saw an exhibition on the 1st World War which was excellent and to the Pergammon museum, again very good. Both these sights are on museum island well within walking distsnce of the hotel. We also went on a cruise for an hour which again was lovely helped by the fine weather and you can catch the boat by the Cathedral bridge and next to the DDR museum.Had a meal at the hotel on 1 night and thst was pleasant enough and a large beer costs 5.20 Euros so a very good expeirence overall.

Room Tip: We faced inwards away from the road, so very quiet and relaxing.

A nice hotel close to the Alexanderplatz, the room was functional and clean. But when I announced at the day of arrival, that I have leave on day earlier due to a urgent rescheduled appointment, the management was not willed to accept this an d ask for full payment. I think, a business hotel should act more flexible...... Even 50% discount for the unused night would be a sign of good will.
Me and my staff will not come back. Fortunately Berlin have a lot of alternatives.
P.S. WiFi is only available for a charge of 11 EUR / day! Much to expensive!

The Leonardo Royal Hotel Berlin Alexanderplatz, a 4-star property, is centrally located and near Berlin’s iconic TV Tower. The exterior conveys a long and rich history but the interior is modern, sophisticated, and the hotel offers a number of services and amenities that are difficult to match at other similarly priced places. Reserve directly with the Leonardo via their website as there are discounts and special packages not available elsewhere. During my last trip, for example, the property included complimentary breakfast daily. Admittedly, most hotel breakfasts are horrific (some make the Bates motel resemble the Ritz Carlton.) The Leonardo, however, features fresh pastries, fruit, meats and cheeses, yogurt, cereals, and eggs prepared a number of ways. The espresso beverages were as equally good, and the staff were more than gracious in allowing us to take our coffees in “to-go” cups.

The Leonardo’s main restaurant, Vitruv, serves Mediterranean and Asian fusion cuisine that is neither fussy or pretentious. The lounge, Leo90, pictured, serves great mixed drinks with just the right amount of trance music in the background and at the perfect volume level. You can have conversations with friends without having to scream to be heard. The bartenders are skilled and the bar itself has an impressive stock of brandys. As you would expect from a hotel of this caliber, there is 24-room service, gym and spa, and a business center. The front desk staff members are good-natured and fluent in a number of languages. I was also more than pleased with the fact the hotel did not present us with myriad hidden fees when we checked out, too. All prices quoted at the time of reservations appeared on the bill exactly and not a dollar more.

Really nice clean hotel, staff were all really helpful, stefanie the concierge really helpful and nice.
Breakfast was value for money. Hotel is next to a church, but the church bells stopped ringing at 7pm so there is no problems with getting to sleep.Good location with plenty of public transport near by, supermarket just around the corner.
