“Funky hotel in Berlin”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

What a wonderful location for a great, boutique hotel in Berlin. After having stayed in more touristy areas on a trip to Europe, the Circus Hotel was a wonderful visit because it was located in a trendy neighborhood near plenty of great restaurants and shopping. I didn't feel like I was stuck in tourist-central; rather, I almost felt like I could enjoy Berlin as a local. Tourist attractions are a short walk or subway stop away. The hotel was incredibly clean and the bathroom shower was excellent (large with great water pressure.) Breakfast was not included with our stay, but you could purchase an "all you can eat" breakfast for $10E. With plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, we never ate breakfast at the hotel. We couldn't have asked for a better deal for our money in Berlin.

My stay here in Berlin was definitely enhanced by the ideal location of the Circus hotel and the most friendly and helpful staff like Victoria and Hugo! The room was compact but very comfortable and clean. Maybe not get the room on the first floor right next to the stairs like I was given (#115) It can be noisy with people in and out but I didn't complain since I was staying only the two nights and they were nice enough to check me in so early before 2pm the early morning of my arrival. The cafe/ restaurant "Fabisch" is nice to come back for a night cap after dinner. I would definitely visit Circus again when I am in Berlin. The hotel meets all the requirements: Great location, Friendly and helpful staff and comfy rooms And affordable rates!

Room Tip: Away from the staircase

This is a great place! The room was perfect and had everything we needed for our stay! It had a perfect location, close to the U bahn for easy access from the airport! All major tourist attractions were within walking distance and there were some great restaurants close by and within the hotel!

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly! They offered advice and guidance for our trip and couldn't do enough for us!

This hotel is based on a simple white box construction but still lovely. Beds and pillows are really comfortable, shower really good, and there are enough plugs. Most important is the staff, who were really caring and helpful. I needed a late night pharmacy and was directed to the right place. My traveling companion's flight was cancelled because Lufthansa pilots went on strike. The quality of the staff made a huge difference, as they patiently helped an anxious traveler sort out the options. This hotel is not just a place to stay, but it's both modern and hip in style, and warm in spirit. That's a real accomplishment. The city is great and I look forward to coming back.

The location is really convenient, easy to get to day or night. The neighborhood has many options for window shopping, dining at all price points...

This place is so cool I was a bit worried we were going to get asked to leave because we weren't trendy enough, but seriously, it's a great place to stay with super-friendly, helpful staff, amazing amazing amazing breakfast (the bread alone is to die for) and a fantastic location with easy access to all Berlin has to offer. Our room was very cute with a lovely view over Rosenthaler Platz and a very comfy bed. There are plenty of great places nearby to eat and access to the metro is right outside the front door. Can't wait to visit again!

What an excellent hotel. First and foremost the staff is young, fresh and seem to love the city and to know all about it. Just ask them anything and they'll direct you in the right direction. for example they have some crazy and interesting ideas like seeing the gay women's cemetery as a site 'must see' for gay women in town. or to see the old airport area that was turned into Coffee area and such. Rooms are nice and clean but a bit small. The house porch is absolutely the best space to hangout and the restaurant is very young and hip. Breakfast bufe' is nice but warm omellets and vegetables are not a part of it and its missing. The shampoo and bath gel are not the best products, so bring your own. And lastly, you need to connect to the wireless Internet again and again after leaving the hotel and coming back to it.
But overall, we would definitely return, we had a free and warm feeling and the people who visit here seem like a great crowd too. 5 stars without doubt.

This was a fantastic little hotel. The interior design was great, the room spacious and well equipped, the shower powerful and the staff friendly and well informed. There is a lovely bar area serving food and drink - we are in the restaurant one night (which the guidebook described as 'average') and really enjoyed the meal. They have live music some nights so a great atmosphere. Location is perfect - plenty going on but not right in the centre if the main tourist areas. All in all, this felt like a much more expensive hotel than it was! Great value at around £90 a night.
