Terrific location with good access to Berlin's excellent public transport. We got a warm welcome from a member of the young efficient enthusiastic staff and enjoyed our comfortable spacious junior suite. We overlooked the bustling Rosenplatz 'circus' but good double glazing overcame any potential noise problems. The walk-in 'rain forest' shower was a delight. We got there early (around 11am) but our room was ready so we were able to check in. Enjoyed a pre-lunch glass of wine in the restaurant courtyard which is charming and doesn't feel at all like a typically bland hotel restaurant. Would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable well-located stay in Berlin.

The Circus Hotel is directly on the Rosenthaler Platz, and provides not only all the amenities one should expect in a decent hotel, but some quirky extras as well. None of the people who work here are "professionals" (many may have worked their way into the hotel via the hostel - also run by the Circus and also good - across the street) - they are chosen for their personalities and for their knowledge of Berlin. Rooms are spacious, clean, and come equipped with pretty much everything. Views are good, restaurant is good, and the breakfast is awesome (extra charge, but worth every pfenning!).

Room Tip: The hallways require you to flip a light switch -- you get used to it. This is a "green"...

This hotel is full of pleasant surprises & a great value. Its very clever decor is classy fun, for starters. Restaurant & breakfast cafe are very good with nice selections at nice prices; good bar for afters. Location can't be beat: in the Mitte, with tram & subway immediately right there, & within walking distance of so many sites. Plenty of restaurants, bars, shops very nearby. Best of all: staff's efficiency, kindness, ability to do just about anything for you. A couple of great surprises: a free, very interesting talk on life post-WWII one evening, w/free munchies! And there's an excellent walking tour company that comes to the lobby to pick you up for their tours, which the hotel will arrange. Front desk people are knowledgable, & very forthcoming with info, maps, etc. We were there for 6 nights in a Jr. Suite: so comfortable & having such a pleasant stay--we didn't really want to leave! Hope to return, & highly recommend Circus.

Room Tip: We were on 2nd floor, over-looking their charming courtyard. Jr Suites have more room than regular r...

After reading all this fab reviews i was a bit dissapointed. The service was a bit strict and not very friendly, but just ok. The junior suite was good in size and the bathroom ok. I was on the first floor facing the backyard which have a cafè. So since there where no AC, i had to have the window open, so at 9 in the morning this backyard was crowded with happy loudtalking morning people. So no more sleep for me. Towels where of poor quality and small. You have to fetch toiletries yourself free in the lobby. Also this was of poor quality. Bed was ok, but cheep linen. So all in all and ok hotel in a great location but dont expect more. I will try the regular room next time if.

Really liked this hotel. As Nadia said public transport is right outside but you can easily walk to everything anyway. Free Wifi in the room was a nice touch for a cheapskate like me! Staff very helpful both before we arrived by email and in person. Great restaurant recommendations from them. (Sophienecke and Burgermeister!!) Would go back

This was a really nice hotel. Room was just right, not spacious but given when you are in Berlin you only really use it for sleeping, showering and changing as you are out and about most of the time, it was fine. All staff were very courteous and the roof terrace was lovely. It is a little bit of a walk into Alexanderplatz and Hacksacher Markt but really only about 10 mins (it just seems longer in the pouring rain!). All in all a very nice trip.
