“Really nice but food choice not great..”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2013

Stayed for one night in one of the Executive twin rooms and have to say the hotel and room was very nice. Really well decorated/maintained, the staff was all very friendly, courteous and would say hello when they saw you. It was a short cab ride from the city centre (approx. 10 minutes) or you could get the tram which was just over the road from the hotel

My only negative point is about the food, we have breakfast and a 3 course meal included. There wasn’t a huge selection of cooked food for breakfast but when it came to the meal in the evening we were told they were out of most of the food so we have a set 3 course meals which wasn’t ideal as I wasn’t a big fan of what they had chosen. The staffs in the restaurant was probably the least friendly of the lot

Room Tip: Executive rooms are exellent value as they include free food (buffet) and drinks including a limited...

Stayed here as part of a package from B.A. very comfortable and stylish and brilliant value. The hotel was near to the train station and opposite a tram stop so easy to get around. There is a huge swimming pool opposite but check the times, on saturdays it didn't open until 12. The room was bright and tastefully decorated and had the usual bells and whistles associated with 4 stars. The breakfast was particularly good with a very large range of meat, fish fruits etc etc. Staff were really friendly and efficient. Tickets for tube/ trams are available from the desk.Had 2 meals in Oscar's ( the bistro) one was delicious and good value ( pasta with shrimps) the second time the 2nd time ordered the same dish and it was completely different and poor. But don't let this put you off the hotel.

Great hotel - very modern and the front desk staff are very friendly. There is the Sky bar upstairs that has a great design but the ambience was lacking - we had to ask for music to be played and what was played was so low key, it didn't fit to the modern and funky surroudings. Not a huge deal but just seems a bit strange to invest in the design only to lower the atmospheric potential.

Was upgraded to a huge suite. Colour schemes are black, green, grey - very modern and minimalist - very nice bathroom design, big flatscreen etc.

The only thing to watch is that if you arrive in Tegel in rush hour, the traffic at rush hour can mean the 15km to the airport can take an hour or so.

Breakfast was very good and there are public transport links directly outside the hotel and a good supply of taxis constantly coming.

We stayed here 3 nights when visiting Berlin in 2012. We got a great deal thanks to a one-day-fly offer online.
The room was amazing. Large comfortable bed, flatscreen TV, mini bar. Large bathroom with a seperate bath and walk-in shower. Very stylish design.

Breakfast was great as well. Lots of different items to choose from. Very good service.
Hotel is located right next to a subway/train and tram station. 15-20 minutes to downtown Berlin.

If you get the same great rate as we did I would most definitely recommend!

Arrived in Berlin, and found the hotel very easily, theres a tram station literally across the road.
The hotel is modern, very clean and all the staff are very helpful. We had breakfast in the hotel, again just brilliant choice. The rooms are modern, stripy lime greens and black decor and the wet room and bathroom were very clean and very modern. Beds very comfortable and the spa was a great plus.
Loved our stay will stay there again and recommend it thoroughly

I booked a last minute two night trip to Berlin in March. As I had stayed at Andel’s previously, I decided to book in there again and was glad that I did.

I flew to Tegel and the transfer was really easy. I was in the hotel within about 45 minutes of landing. I caught the TXL bus to Beusselstrasse and the S Bahn to Landsberger Allee. The hotel is just over the road. Check in was swift and I was in my room very quickly. Besides being very close to the S Bahn there is a tram stop right outside the hotel with a frequent service to Alexanderplatz. For those who wish to use the superb Berlin public transport system a lot during their stay I suggest that a one day travel card is purchased. Although single fares are very cheap anyway, it is possible to travel extensively for next to nothing with a one day ticket. I think that similar tickets are also available for longer periods. They can be obtained form the very helpful hotel concierge.

My room was excellent. It was on a low floor and overlooked the back of the hotel and was very quiet and comfortable. I made the mistake of turning the climate control off when I went to bed. Consequently the room got quite hot! Once I turned it back on everything was fine.

Buffet breakfast was superb. A massive selection of hot and cold food. Possibly the best breakfast in the many hotels I have stayed in over the years. I didn’t eat in the restaurant when I was there so can’t comment on that side of things.

All in all, I can highly recommend this hotel. Please don’t be put off by the location as it really is not a problem. I couldn’t find any bars in the area surrounding the hotel but I didn’t look that hard. Given the swift tram service into the city it is very easy to find lots of restaurants and bars with a ten minute tram ride.

Would I go back? Most certainly. I have stayed twice and will be back in Berlin later in the year. Andel’s will be my hotel of choice.

I do agree with the majority of previous ratings; a very nice and high quality hotel. It is big so no personal service of course, but still a nice place to stay. There is virtually nothing to do in the neighbourhood (well, more or less), but with 30 meters walk to S-bahn and tram you will be in the middle of everything in 10 mins anyway. The executive lounge is indeed very nice with a very nice terrace, might be worth upgrading. The hotel is huge so be prepared for a walk between room and lifts. Staff very friendly and smiling BTW.
