Vienna House Andel's Berlin
Ranked #58 of 635 Hotels in Berlin
Certificate of Excellence

Andel's Hotel is in the old East sector of Berlin so is not immediately convenient for most of the key attractions but that said, the S-Bahn tram stop is right right outside and from here Alexander Platz is just 10 mins away (take the M5 or M6 tram). From there you can walk for about 25 mins down Unter den Linden toward Brandenburg Gate or get the U-Bahn to Potsdamer Platz (Sony Centre) and Kurfurstendamm (start of main shopping areas) which is around 12 more stops from Alexander Platz. If you're really energetic you can walk from the hotel to Alexander Platz via Karl Marx Allee - takes 90 mins or so depending how fast you walk.
Value for money the hotel is hard to beat. Facilities are modern and excellent, staff are attentive and helpful and food is good too. Overall a good base for a city break

Room Tip: Standard double rooms have plenty of space with good sized bed and bathroom/shower. Tea & Coffee...

Spent a night here, but my girlfriend was there for a few days for a conference.

Room was spotless, hi-tech, well designed, and looked brand new. General hotel facilities were also excellent. Only let down was the slightly "incompetent" reception staff! I beleive it was a "superior" room, but it really did have just about every feature possible.

The sky bar is well worth a visit at sunset for the views across the city. Parking downstairs (reasonable price for a city centre hotel) and a tram stop right outside with regular trams into the centre.

This is the third time I have stayed at this hotel, this time was for leisure, the previous two had been for business. Pros and Cons
Pros:
1. Well situated, in the East, directly on the tram lines M5 and M6, as well as on the S-Bahn. Both lines are literally two minutes from the hotel.
2. Clean, modern, stylish rooms, even the standard ones
3. Friendly staff
4. Great concierge service, very helpful. They sell the 'Berlin Welcome Card' tickets, which at €24.50 for 72 hours are well worth it. This gets you on the bus, tram and underground (U-Bahn) and overground (S-Bahn) railways
5. Excellent breakfast service. Good selection, imaginatively presented and resupplied
6. Sky Bar on the 14th Floor. Cocktails around €10, lovely ambiance and great views

Cons:

1. Although the position is great for public transport (you can get a train there direct from Schonefeld airport), it is still well out of the city centre, and doesn't have much in the way of restaurants etc around it
2. It is big. You feel like a conference delegate rather than an individual, although all the staff were friendly and helpful

Room Tip: Higher the better for the view. If you are sightseeing and planning to spend most of your time in th...

As everyone has said: Breakfast was very good, lots of choice. We ate at the pizza restaurant across the road, it was very reasonable and the food was good. There were at least two other restaurants nearby. We ate one night at Oscars at the hotel, very nice atmosphere and the food was enjoyed, we had the special at 9 Euros 50 for the main and had a carafe of wine to go with it. It was easy to get into the centre of Berlin using the local transport and very easy to get to the airport. It was very interesting to see people abseiling down the side of the hotel! Our room was quiet but one night we could hear music from a wedding that was being held in the room next door. We found the staff friendly and helpful.

Was looking for a design hotel in Berlin and came across this one. Certainly has some striking design features, such as the gold reception area, and the rooms do 'design' in a pretty regular way. It did feel like a very 'business' hotel, lots of people in suits checking in and a slight air of pomposity amongst the guests. Not a party hotel. Breakfast buffet was pretty impressive and full of cheeses, breads, yogurts, dried fruits and lovely teas. Nice hotel, but prefer staying places with a bit more personality to it

I spent a few days here while visiting Berlin and was very impressed. While it's not so near the centre, the transport links (especially the tram which stops right outside) make it a very easy and convenient base from which to explore the city.

The room was lovely. It was clean and well kept. We had a bath and a shower which was nice. The bed was incredibly comfortable and i slept very well - no noise from outside the room despite the hotel being quite busy. Also we had access to free wifi in the room which, while not particularly speedy (you can pay for faster access) was more than adequate for our needs.

We didn't have a lot of contact with staff but when we did we were always greeted with courtesy and friendliness. The breakfast was a great range and one of the most pleasant I've had in a number of hotels through the world.

I'll definitely be returning there when I do return to Berlin. I'd really recommend it.
