“Very swanky”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2014

This is a great hotel. In terms of location it may not be in the centre of Berlin, but the tram to Alexanderplatz is *literally* outside the hotel, and Landsberger Allee S-Bahn station is right there too, which is on the S41/42 Ring line. You're not going to have any problems getting to wherever you want to go, basically. Across the road you've got a bakery and a couple of shops, and round the corner from that is a nice wee Italian restaurant. There's even a Burger King diagonally across from the hotel...

The hotel itself is very swanky. The reception area is massive with helpful staff. When I got to my room, I was pretty chuffed with it. Nice big bed, a comfy chair with a bean bag to put my feet on, and the poshest toilet I think I've ever been in. There's even a speaker in there so you can hear the TV while you're brushing your teeth in the morning (assuming Sie sprechen Deutsche). The room felt like a real treat, especially for the price I paid for it. I also liked that if I didn't want my towels to be washed, I could just hang a sign on my door saying to leave them - nobody really needs fresh towels every day.

The nearest thing to quibbles I would have are the free internet isn't particularly fast, but you can upgrade to a faster network if need be - for a price, obviously! Also, I kept getting static shocks when pressing the lift button, but that was because of the trainers I was wearing really - all it means is the carpets are nice and thick. And I found it a bit daft that every day I would come back to find another apple on my bedside table - joining the ones I'd left uneaten. There were five apples by the end... But none of those things come even close to warranting downgrading the hotel - I just mention them for the sake of it really.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this place to a friend.

I came to Andels for the second time (having been there in 2009) because I found it hassle-free and polite. I enjoy the location on the East side of Berlin. A good way to explore this is by running, lots of nice simple routes and plenty of parks. Getting in and out of the rest of town is easy and cheap.
The room was really comfortable, once we had worked out how to turn down the thermostat. The breakfast was fab, as are most German hotel breakfasts. I travelled with my son and we both enjoyed the Spa very much, lovely wood-lined sauna. He would have preferred more free weights in the fitness room. Perhaps that would be possible? It was also not always possible to use the jacuzzi as at least one couple decided to make love in it. Embarrassing and I wish I had been German enough just to tell them off!
Staff were always friendly and helpful and put up with my rusty German, even though there is nothing wrong with their English.
One complaint: if you advertise free wifi then do not display a range of paid-for options on a screen which appears tiny on a mobile or IPad. I managed, once, to choose the E14 per day option, quite without realising it. I made a bit of a fuss about this, as I felt it to be unfair. I understand that Andels is a conference hotel and you probably want to make sure the business people make a fair contribution but to me, this felt like a trap.
Cocktails a reasonably fair price, coffees expensive as in all hotels but never mind. My son (a cocktail waiter) was not impressed that staff did not strain his ice-based cocktail, so it ended up too dilute. This was on a busy night. It's a small thing.
If I come back to Berlin, I will come back to Andels, no doubt about it. But please sort out the Wifi.

Room Tip: They are all good.

15 minutes by tram from the city but great rooms, service and food. The train from the airport and tram to the city stop outside, so easy to get to and from, this hotel offers amazing value and first class service and accommodation, only one complaint, the tea and coffee in the rooms was never replenished, very odd as everything else was brilliant, definite recommendation.

This is a very nice & modern 4 star hotel in East Berlin. The S Bahn station is just 2 min away. Breakfast is very good. The Spa center is also very nice, the sauna was HOT just like it should be.
The price/quality ratio is very high. Will most probably stay there again if needed.

This hotel is marketed as a design orientated hotel, with very nicely laid out rooms filled with tasteful designer furniture and spacious, modern bathrooms. It is a modern hotel, located on the east side of Berlin. While this location may not be of concern to some people due to the availability of the tram service, it would have been nice to be able to walk to the sights instead of having to continuously board a tram each morning. The staff are all very friendly and helpful within the hotel, and the breakfast has a tasteful, yet broad, selection. The only downside in terms of services came in the form of the internet, which would continuously cut out all the time. This may have been different if you were to pay for the faster speeds.

Room Tip: A room looking onto the courtyard would provide a quieter environment away from the road.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. It is a beautiful, modern hotel located in the "eastern" side of Berlin. My room was incredibly spacious, had a nice view out into the courtyard, and was well furnished. The bathroom was modern, the bed comfortable, and the free breakfast delicious. While it is located a bit further from the center of Berlin than other hotels, a quick ride on the public transport will bring you any where you need to go.

Additionally, the rooftop bar offers an amazing atmosphere with fantastic views. I didn't have a chance to check out the spa, but it is available.

In short, rent a room there. You will not be disappointed.

Just spent 2 nights at the andel's Berlin for a business meeting.
Rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. Very nice bathroom! Restaurant area (used for breakfast and lunch) has a very pleasant atmosphere. The choice of food could have been a little bit better (but I assume this was related to the conference package that had been chosen by the organizers). Wonderful skybar on the topfloor of the building with outstanding view over the city, nice atmosphere/music (not too loud that you can follow a conversation), wide choice of drinks (recommend the Andel's house cocktail with fresh maracuja juice) and nice selection of food :-)
For the meeting, the room was comfortable although a little bit cold. We were disturbed by the set-up of another event next door, which could have been better planned.
I would definitely recommend the property!
