“A lovely place to stay”
Reviewed 29 August 2012 via mobile

The Adagio Berlin ku'damm took me quite by surprise. From the photos on the website I expected that my apartment would be quite a bit smaller. I anticipated that in the studio apartment I wouldn't be able to walk the way around the bed with it down from the wall. This however was not the case. The apartment was well appointed and stylishly finished. I stayed in Berlin for four nights which provided great value. The little kitchenette was great for storing some drinks in the fridge and whipping up brekkie when I didn't feel like having a cafe breakfast or I had a tour on that day. There is a little grocery store just up the road too which worked out great. This particular aparthotel is situated only 5 mins walk from Kurfurstendamm; a very affluent and shopping oriented street. All your high fashion labels are here as well as some great restaurants. Only drawback I found was that it was a little far to walk from the main attractions. But then I walked pretty much everywhere while I was in Berlin. If you can master the transport system, you've got it made. Also just a note, if you are catching a taxi from the airport, let your cab driver know that it is behind the abba hotel. Mine didn't seem to know where the heck it was. As to whether or not he was just ripping me off is another question, but if you tell them this tid bit then you won't have the same issue. I also found that the bed was a little bit hard, though this seems to be the same in every hotel I have ever visited.

We liked it a lot. But we never had breakfast at the hotel and there was only wireless internet in the lobby. But it was close to the train and we can recommend to walk the very nice street Bleibtreu Straze and the Train Station. Café Bleibtreu in the samestreet is a nice popular local restaurant with good prices and atmosphere.

The Hotel cab be hard to find but it is big signs at the road and then it's in the back on a small street.

We stayed at this apart hotel for four days in July. We've been in an apartment for four people, very spacious and a lot more comfortable than a standard hotel room, all new and working properly. There was a thick sliding door between the rooms, so if you wanted a bigger place you can keep it open. The kitchen was well equiped (we hadn't a toaster but yes a coffee maker). There was two LED TVs, one in each room, and there wasn't a lot of channel in english (even less in spanish, you can imagine), but we didn't care at all: the olympics results and the weather was perfectly undestandable in german :) . The WC was separated from the bathroom (which is important if you are four). Yes, the towels wasn't changed for 7 days, but there was an electric towel dryer, and if you were too desperate for the cleaning of the room, there was a vacuum cleaner in the wardrobe (we know all this stuff before we made the reservation, so I think it's not a thing to complain about). There was a w-lan internet connection for free and a very comfortable desk to work at, and a little table hidden below where we could eat dinner at nights.
The location was great, not in the city center, but in a very commercial place, with U-bahn and S-bahn stations a few blocks, and plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as two or three supermarkets to buy food if you prefer to eat at the apartment.
And considering all these things, the price we paid (109 euros /night) it seems more than convenient.
We stayed at another Adagio in Munich, and seems to be a guarantee of quality, so we would choose it in another city too.

Second stay at this hotel after being impressed last year.

The hotel is about 20 minutes walking distance from Berlin Zoologischer Garten station (for regional trains, S-Bahn, U-Bahn and bus), or you can get the 109/110 bus to Bleibtreustrasse which makes it an easy 5 minute walk.

The staff were very friendly and spoke English perfectly well, and were happy to assist with any requests. Little things to note which brought down my ratings from last time - there were less glasses/plates/bowls in the kitchen, and some of them were also chipped. Obviously they have been broken or damaged over time but not replaced. Also, a little more attention to detail would have been good such as cleaning fingermarks off cupboard doors etc. Spare pillows in the room would also be handy, one pillow for each bed is a little stingy.

If you use the towel rail in the bathroom, you can just about get by on the one towel all week (no service for a 7-night stay or under). WiFi is still available for free in the reception area too.

On the whole, however, a place I would go back to again and would thoroughly recommend - great location, easy transport links, and large apartments!

Thought the hotel quality and location was perfect for having a comfortable stay and enjoying the city. Great price too. Cannot fault this at all and is by far better than any other hotels i've stayed in other cities which have cost considerably more. About 4 U and S Bahn stations all within walking distance. We had a studio and the kitchen is really handy if you wish to make breakfasts and snacks and there are a couple of supermarkets close by. Bed is large and comfortable and all seems newly decorated and a new hotel.
