Description: At the heart of our hotel is the DUKE Restaurant, which has been awarded 15 Gault & Millau points (2016), provides space for 65 guests and features an open show kitchen. A refined bar arrangement connects the restaurant with the DUKE Bar & Lounge as well as the unique ELLINGTON Summer Garden. The separate Private Dining Room offers space for an additional twelve guests in a private setting. Florian Glauert, who originally hails from Berlin, is ultimately responsible for the gastronomic flair of the ELLINGTON HOTEL BERLIN. Chef de Cuisine and his Sous Chef Michael Schulz presents a "Cuisine logique" which stands out due to its composition of exciting flavours, new horizons and traditional French Haute Cuisine. Glauert prioritises the use of high quality regional products which he combines on the table with keen attention to detail in an exquisitely refined and yet straightforward way. The hosts of the DUKE restaurant are Jessica Kleinert and Andrea Sinner, who charmingly combines the relaxed charm of the restaurant with the elegantly presented cuisine. The DUKE restaurant stands for Casual Fine Dining at the highest of levels – but without a starchy 'shirt and tie only' vibe. Seasonal specialities and creative dishes are served over the middle of the day at the DUKE lunch and in the evenings which appeal to business guests, local residents and tourists from all over the world. For those who like to enjoy a special brunch buffet at the weekend, every Sunday from 12.00 noon until 3.00 pm, the DUKE restaurant offers its Jazz Brunch, accompanied by live music.

Excellent food and service. Huge wine selection. We ate here our last night and it was the best meal we had in that area.

We have been with friends at this restaurant for brunch on sunday. The hotel is located on the Nuerembergstrasse very close to the underground station "Augsburgerstrasse". The Duke restaurant made a very good impression. The brunch has a good selection of cold and warm dishes, it includes a good sparkling wine and it costs Euro 35 pp. Desserts were lovely ranging from fresh fruits to tasteful sweets such as creme brulee. The buffett was displayed in two sections and although it was supposed to be the same offer in both sections we have noticed that this was not the case. For example there was some grilled options only in one section. The section we were seating tended to be also quite loud (it seems to be related to the construction) so ask to be seated in the area in which the band plays.
We have enjoyed the brunch at this restaurant not only because of the food but specially because of the very attentive service. The two ladies who were in charged of bringuing us our beverages of choice were not only polite and efficient but also very friendly. Our wishes were more or less anticipated. This is one of the main reasons why we will come back to the Duke.

We went there to celebrate a birthday, the restaurant was lovely and the service excellent. The staff could not do enough to ensure everyone's comfort. The food was excellent and there was a good selection, the only issue I had was with regards to the hot choices. Being a vegetarian, I did not see any hot meals which were suitable, there was a couscous dish with fish and a pesto pasta, which I assume contained parmesan cheese which is not suitable for vegetarians, however I found the staff very helpful and the ensured all needs were catered to. Would certainly recommend this for a special occasion.

This is a hotel restaurant near the shopping district around Kurfustendamm and Tauentzienstrasse. My first meal was with a large group of colleagues attending a conference. Despite it being Saturday night they managed to put together a table for 13 people which is no mean feat. There was meticulous attention to detail, particularly with refilling water (sparkling or still), and there was beautiful table and dish presentation. As we were a large group, we had fewer options than the regular a la carte menu, but I enjoyed white asparagus soup, salmon with white asparagus (delicious in-season produce), and the "I love chocolate" dessert option (chocolate 5 ways). All of the meals were fabulous and delicious, and generous portion sizes for the price. Certainly I would never have a meal of that size for such a cheap price back home. We were also given a pre-entree appetiser and fresh bread with beetroot dipping sauce as part of the table service.

The major let-down with this particular evening was nothing to do with the meal - it was the time between finishing the meal, requesting the bill, and leaving the restaurant. I suppose there were difficulties splitting the bill between cash and credit card payments, but the credit card system took forever and each invoice had to be printed on an ancient printer with what seemed to be 5 or 6 paper copies.

However this didn't stop me coming back a second time when my sister arrived in Berlin, just for the fabulous white asparagus menu! This time we had prompt and efficient service, mainly because it was a Wednesday night and there were hardly any people around. The meal was just as delicious as before, served also with a small garden salad in a simple glass.

The restaurant itself is connected to a bar and the hotel lobby (and a radio studio). Despite the name (Duke restaurant in Ellington hotel) and the various photographs of Duke Ellington and other musicians around the restaurant, I did not hear any jazz music played on either occasion we were dining there.

We had a business dinner here. The service was polite and efficient with a touch of humour particularly with the dessert menu! The food was simple but good And portions weren't too large!
The win list was rather good!
