“Will for sure be back!”
Reviewed 27 April 2011

I stayed in this beautiful hotel last year and this year in March and I enjoyed both times very much. It is within walking distance from the central station (15 mins) and just a few minutes away from the station Bellevue. The people at the reception are friendly and helpful and the rooms are very modern and beautiful and also very quiet! You are in a quiet part of the city but very close to the city. Breakfast can be added for 7 or 8 Euros and contains everything you would want for a good breakfast.

Will definitely come back when in Berlin the next time!

Does what it says on the tin. Chose this particular location for it's proximity to where the TransMediale conference was taking place, which was a big plus. Never having been to Berlin, I, the one not attending conference, thought being close to the park and in a neighborhood would give me a good feel for the city. Maps can be deceiving though, and this has nothing to do with the motel/hotel, but Berlin is built on a HUGE scale. My leisurely stroll through the park to the shopping district took HOURS. And I'm a big-time walker. The public transport is great but people that want something more touristy on their doorstep should look for another location.

As a motel/hotel, can't be faulted. Good to be in a newer place, as it didn't have any signs of wear or tear. As mentioned in the title, they get things right. Comfy beds, great bathroom. Don't expect a gourmet continental breakfast - the juice out of a machine tasted funny to me (my fault for trying it) and the "fresh" fruit salad had to have come out a bag, having been processed some long, long time ago but the breads, meats & cheeses were edible.

Oh yeah, I guess it's better to buy the breakfast & internet together as some package when booking - I think it was just like 7.50 Euro per person but for what some places charge for Wi-Fi it's worth it (and the breakfast wasn't that bad)

Would stay again if back in the city. Great chain/concept & new ones were sprouting up everywhere.

Nice feel to the place & friendly staff. Convenient for the tram/rail.

Believe the hype -- for a very low price you can have a clean, comfortable and modern room in a lovely hotel with great staff, free wi-fi, and breakfast. The rooms are really great, with comfortable beds and flat screen tv. Staff was always helpful and friendly. Breakfast is your European standard cheese and meat and muesli affair, no complaints.
Motel One has eliminated a few frills that you will probably not miss -- there are no in-room phones, for example. So if you want to reach another guest, you need to leave a message at reception or get their mobile number. No big deal.
The only tiny fly in the ointment is that you are not exactly in the center of the action at this location. You're only a few minutes walk from an S-Bahn station, but if you are planning some late nights enjoying Berlin's legendary nightlife, you will be shelling out for taxis to take you back to the hotel.
If you're not much for nightlife then you will find it hard to find better value for money than Motel One Bellevue in Berlin. And even if you are a partier, a few taxis is not so bad -- from this hotel to Kreuzberg is about 15 EUR.

Stayed 2 nights over a very full sightseeing weekend. Room spotless and functional. 5 min walk to Bellevue S-Bahn, 15 min walk to main train station. Gas station with mini-market across the street. Room included internet and breakfast, which was fresh and nicely presented. Lobby featured a 24-hour bar. All this for 67 Euros/night. I'd do it again without questions.

This hotel was just the way I like it - quiet, clean, bright and attractive, a good firm mattress, an excellent shower, windows that open as well as air-con, a nice flat-screen t.v., very friendly reception, good value breakfast and good value overall.
Any quibbles I had were very minor, e.g. there was Darjeeling or Earl Grey but no English Breakfast tea for breakfast; rather more importantly there were lots of t.v. channels but nearly all rubbish and nearly all in German (at least, thankfully, there was BBC World).
The location suited me but the immediate surroundings are not very fashionable and there's not a large choice of places to eat on the doorstep. (I didn't need a meal, but I noticed a cafe/restaurant called Cabinett two minutes' walk away that seemed to have a good range of value dishes at reasonable prices).
I would definitely stay here again and would try other Motel Ones after such a positive experience.

I stayed here at this location this past week and really enjoyed it. Had read a lot about Motel One, and have heard good things about it, so heading to Berlin for a few days, I thought I would give them a try. The front desk staff were smiling and welcoming, friendly and helpful with train directions and the purchase of a Welcome Card. My room looked just like the photos, spotless, and with the signature decor of this chain. The special touch I liked was the flat screen tv with the burning logs. The sound and everything made the room feel cosy. The shower had plenty of hot water with a big rain shower head. As a solo traveler, it was nice to have a large double bed, as well as lots of big, fluffy towels. Hair dryer worked fine and all the lighting through-out the room and bath was good for me. The walls here must be sound-proof, as I never heard another guest, nor anyone in the halls. Had problems with my mobile reception though.

Breakfast consisted of a fairly decent choice of everything and I liked the coffee machines where I could have as many capacino as I liked, as well as take one back to my room. A small selection of newspapers was also on hand. Wi-fi is free in your room if you order your breakfast when you make your room reservation.

Check -in and Check-out went as smooth as could be. The location was about a 5-10 min. walk to the S-bahn. Easy to get to and in a nice neighborhood. I look forward to using Motel One again in other cities.
