“Good place in Berlin”
Reviewed 7 January 2013

Nice hotel near the central train station (15 minutes walk), the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag - 20 minutes. Stayed on New Year's Eve, the people were very much. Breakfast is very pleased: a buffet with cold meats, cheeses, dry breakfast, fresh pastries, juices and coffee beans. The rooms are clean and spacious. Cleaning every day. The rooms quiet. Great idea with a fireplace in every room. Staff welcoming and friendly. In a separate room air conditioner with temperature control. In the shower hair gel / shampoo. Thank you all for an enjoyable stay.

Just ten minutes walk from Berlin Bellevue station, this is a pleasant and nice place both for business and for leisure, This is a nice bread and breakfast place and you cannot expect any room service. Rooms are spacious, toilet is basic and nice, and equipped with all modern amenities. If you want fresh air just open the huge windows carefully. Reception desk persons are nice and helpful. Moreover, compared to location and room size the price is reasonable, about Euro 50/- a day.
Only a coffee / tea maker in room would have been more useful for guests.

I stayed here again recently.
It was as ever well organised.... It is as photos show ...stylish, clean, good value.
It pays to book inclusive of breakfast as that gives free wifi in the room.
It's normally free in the lobby-breakfast area...just ask reception for a code.

It's a 10 minute walk from the main railway station and a little less from Bell Vue S-bahn station.
A really well placed hotel for exploring by feet or using the rail/bus network.

The surrrounding area has a few restaurants but its only a couple of stops on the S-bahn to many others.
I'll no doubt be using this one again in the future.

Motel One Bellevue was built only about 4 years ago and is therefore in a very good condition. It is stylish, but not everything is expedient in practice. For instance, there was no switch for the lights truly in reach from my bed. Furthermore, there was no place where to undo the suitcase. So you have to put it on the bed. The only lamp really bright enough for reading was above the mirror, next to the bathroom door. It is strange that you have to put a stool at this odd place in order to read more than just a few lines.

The room was equipped with a well-sized flat screen TV. With the exception of a handful of channels in English all of the about 40 channels operational were in German. I found an electronic list of the radio channels but none whatsoever of the TV channels, which made time-consuming zapping inevitable.

My room was spotless and the best thing about it was the air-condition, which worked silently and was very effective, even though highest daytime temperatures remained above the 30°C level for several days. What also deserves praise is the noise insulation between adjacent rooms. Moreover, I very much appreciated the fact that both the bed and the pillow were fairly firm, which is rare in hotels.

One has to be aware that Motel One Bellevue is situated directly at an S-Bahn track (although the next station is several hundred metres away). Since my room was directed to the court I only heard a faint rumble of the S-Bahn trains. This might be different in the rooms at the street side of the building if the soundproofing properties of the windows are not better there.

As to public transport, only a bus stop is near by. However, the hotel is situated just a 15-minutes walk away from Berlin's central train station, which makes it well suited for discovering the town and its surroundings. Besides, if you walk to the central station along (or rather underneath) the S-Bahn track this is not only the shortest way but you are also protected from rain except for the last few metres.

In the vicinity of the hotel, restaurants are few and far between. Nevertheless, there is a decent and charming Cambodian restaurant named Angkor Wat at Paulstrasse 22, i.e. virtually next door.

I had booked breakfast, which was available only in a strange combination with WLAN access and was not a bargain for somebody like me who did not need WLAN. But I did not find any viable alternative for having breakfast in the neighbourhood. The buffet breakfast comprised solely the basics, the quality of part of the baker's ware was mediocre and I missed dark bread. Moreover, the variety was limited, e.g. there were only two kinds of cheese, which remained always the same during my four-days stay. This became pretty boring in the course of time. Thus, Motel One Bellevue qualifies rather for one or two nights than for longer stays.

Room Tip: In order to be sure not to be disturbed by noise from the S-Bahn try to get a room on the court side...

In my first trip to Berlin, I spent 3 days in this hotel and found it very good for price. Nice modern design, good location, really nice breakfast, everything was very clean and recepcionists were nice. Easy to get there by train or bus.

I spend 3 nights in this hotel and really loved it.
I payed a very accessible price, the room was very well decorated and confortable.
The loby is very inviting and loads of people stop there for a drink or a snack which gives it a familiar and nice atmosphere.
The breakfast was perfect!
The only downside was that some of the receptionist did not speak english so sometimes we had a bit of a trouble to be understood.
Other than that is an amazing place to stay!
