“Wonderful stay at Karlito”
Reviewed 18 October 2013

My husband and I just had a wonderful three night stay at Karlito Apartmenthaus. We took public transportation from the airport and it was very easy to get to Karlito. We checked in at the cafe downstairs. We arrived at noon and our apartment was ready. It was a big, studio apartment with a small kitchen, a big bathroom and a little balcony with a beautiful view. The apartment was very clean. A cleaning crew came in every morning. The bathroom was big and the tub/shower was wonderful. We were able to hop on the metro which was a five minute walk from Karlito. Very little noise from the traffic. Bed was comfortable. I would absolutely stay here again. Breakfast is not included, but there is a great little cafe downstairs which serves breakfast, lunch and drinks at night.

I have to admit that after reading all the enthusiastic reviwes on this place, my expectations were pretty high, and maybe that's why now I feel like "OK, was that all?".
It is a clean apartment, for sure, but I wouldn't say spotless clean. There were some stains on the couch, you know, that kind of stains that leave no space to the immagination. Also, the curtain in the shower had some old stains on it, too.

Wi-Fi: it works great, that's really true. We never had a problem with that.

Service: There is no room service, and it was not a problem as we only stayed there for a couple of nights, but I have no idea how often would they change towels or sheet if you stay longer.

Sleeping time: well the matrass is really really comfy, I loved it.
But: the street is really noisy and you have to keep your windows open when it's hot as there is no A/C, so basically you hear everything is going on the street (we were on the first floorm, but maybe on a higher floor, it goes better?). Also, curtains let all the sun in on the morning (at around six), so if you are a kind of person that cannot sleep if there is light in the room, than maybe you should use a mask to cover your eyes.

Staff: we just met a blond woman behind the bar and she checked us in and out. She doesn't seems to be a people person, but she speaks English (well, I think she speaks only English) so it could be of some helps if you are not German. The owner seems to be a really nice guy that knows how to deal with guests. There were some inconveniences during our check out, and he offered us the breakfast as apology.

Breakfast: it costs 10 euro, I thought it was a bit too much for a croissant and a cappuccino, or a boiled eye and a cappuccino.

Neighborhood: weel, the location is great!

Room Tip: I would suggest to avoid the apartment on the first floor, because of the noise from the street.

At this highly competitive price, a large "apartment" with modern decoration... I am always happy to be here. Rooms are spacious, internet usually works (and if it doesn't, the manager tries hard to solve the problem). The associated café, more a student place, has good drinks, a nice way to end an evening in Berlin.

I think there is no breakfast, but I did not miss it. If one gets up late enough, get a coffee in the café or walk a short distances for many other places.

If I can help it, I will forget about all other hotels in Berlin. There is no need for them, except to house the others!

Once again TA led us to a great place to stay. The apartment was spacious & inviting. There was a walkout balcony off the room. It was clean & nicely furnished. The neighborhood was full of quaint little places & we were a block away from a Main Street. The metro was about a 5 minute walk away. What's not to like? I failed to mention very reasonable.

On the recommendation of a friend living in this neighborhood, we booked a room at the Karlito Apartment Haus for 5 nights. Pleasantly surprised when we walked in and found a charming, well-stocked apartment with full kitchen (including coffee maker, pots & pans, cooking utensils, glasses, eating utensils, refrig, stove, etc.) spacious and comfy king-sized bed as well as comfortable dining area and desk. Plenty of room to spread out. The furnishings look like they are from Ikea, but who cares...everything functions appropriately. Very good value for Berlin. The apartment is on a quiet street in the trendy Mitte neighborhood and an easy walk to 3 metro stations, major bus lines and historical sights in the central part of East Berlin. Small grocery store around the corner was a convenient place to stock up on coffee, cereal, fruit, cheese, etc. We enjoyed being able to wake up, make our own coffee and enjoy breakfast in our apartment. We had the option of ordering food and having it delivered from Cafe Lois downstairs. Would very much recommend this place. We had free wifi and flat screen TV and the only thing I would fault them for is not having English language News programs like CNN or BBC on their cable TV. (We arrived the day of the Boston Marathon bombing and wanted to watch the news)

Room Tip: Fifth floor is the highest and furthest up from the street. While the street itself is very small an...

We stayed here for four nights in August, and it was a perfect base for exploring the city.
The apartment was well outfitted, large and airy, and the internet was good. Grocery store was nearby, and there was a great range of restaurants in the neighborhood. Nice local feel.

Having visited this apartment hotel 3 times, it's one of my favourite accomodations in Berlin. Spacious, comfortable and modern studio apartments with small kitchen, bathroom with tub and good working free WiFi makes this a convenient, efficient and relaxed spot for a business travel as well as a city break. The bar at the ground floor handles check-in and check out and can provide snacks and drinks almost every hour of the day. Shops and transport are close. Highly recommended.
