This is a clean, modern property in an excellent location. It is directly across the street from the train station in Friedrichschain and around the corner from the Eastside Gallery. They also have an elevator. My only complaint is that there was no soap in the restrooms (you have to have your own), they charge for linen, and they charge for wifi in the room. I would definitely stay again, but this place might not be for the super cheap traveler, luckily that's not me.

Nice hostel located near the Berlin Wall in Kreuzberg. Perfect If you want to stay a weekend and party. Clean rooms, nice staff, overall a well rounded place. Small drawback is that if you wanna go sightseeing have to switch around a bit on the s-bahn/u-bahn.

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights and we absolutely loved it!

For a start it is only a very short walk away from the train station but it is also surrounded by bars, restaurants and clubs.
It is a two minute walk to the Eastside Gallery and there is so much cool street art around. Just an awesome area in general and has a really great vibe.

The hostel is extremely clean and every morning someone comes in and cleans the rooms just like in a hotel.

Every single staff member we encountered was so helpful and really lovely to us. They were happy to help with any questions we had.

The only thing I could fault if anything is it would have been nice to have organized activities at the hostel as it's an awesome way to meet new people. But despite that, this is one of the best hostels I have stayed in and I would highly recommend it for anyone coming to Berlin.

There really isn't anything you can flaw about this hostel. Awesome place to stay if you are a solo traveller as it has a bar, large common area, pool table, large outside area and large communal kitchen. It was the first hostel i had ever stayed in and it was a great experience. Very clean and large rooms with ensuites which was great. Great location close to East Side Gallery, great clubs, shops and food. Highly recommend !

Location is good, opposite the U-Bahn and 4 minutes to the S-Bahn, and within walking distance to the club Berghain and to the Friedrichshain bar and restaurant area at Boxhagener/Simon-Dach-Strasse.

The hostel is large - which is mostly an advantage, given the professional way they run it. It is located in a former industrial building from 1907, built to very modern standards back then, and renovated in 2010. The style is a good balance between modern efficiency and original details that add to the atmosphere.

The colour scheme is subtle and peaceful with grey and black, which is OK because there is a lot of light. You won't find the ubiquitous 'happy hostel colours' or childish wall motifs here.

The back of the building has large windows, opening towards an open area (next large building is the O2 World arena 300 meters away). Inbetween there is an area belonging to the street cleaning agency and their vehicles, but I noticed no noise. You will also see the railway in the distant and a few trees. A real Berlin view, a symbiosis of residential, industrial and open areas.

Details such as plumbing, carpets, paint work are professionally done. There are two elevators, and the hostel is probably fine for people with mobility issues - or a lot of luggage.

My stay was split in two because I defected to the neighbouring Plus Berlin hostel for one night (I regretted that) - so I stayed in a 6-bed and an 8-bed dorm respectively. Especially the 8-bed dorm was a pleasant surprise, very spacious with windows to two sides, a large table in the middle of the room, an entry area and two bathrooms. Really like a flat of its own.

Beds were bunk beds, but sturdy (beechwood) and with spring mattresses (Ikea). Bed linen (white cotton, clean and ironed) costs an additional 3 euro, although this surcharge is not properly advertised when you book. A towel is not included in this.

In-room lockers work with your own padlock. If you have no padlock, there are also small lockers in the lobby area freely available for a deposit, and a luggage room.

The guest kitchen is good and well-equipped with Ikea kitchenware, two stovetops, fridge and freezer.

Wifi is free in the lobby area and extends to the ground floor, including the guest kitchen. In the rooms, you need to pay.

The lobby has a very high ceiling, so easily gets noisy, especially when large teenage or children groups assemble there.

Hostel staff is very professional and nice. When I came back after staying in another hostel for one night, I didn't need to pay the bedlinen surcharge again, although I obviously got new bedlinen. When I had forgotten my toothbrush somewhere and asked the reception if the cleaning people could have found it, the gave me a new toothbrush for free.

If you need to do offiice work, as I did, your options are to stay in the room or use the guest kitchen or the basement lounge. The basement was empty and very silent, no guests seem to know about it. You will even get the free wifi signal here, although weakly. Another option is the nice library next door (Library for Educational History Research), open 10-18. You need to register for free, and they have computers and wifi.

The curtains in the rooms were light-proof, but quite heavy, and covered the radiators, blocking the heating. A wrong choice from Ikea. For this reason, guests appeared to not open and close the curtains, but just leave them as they were. When entering at night, and other people sleeping, I couldn't close the curtains because it would be noisy. So I chose to sleep with a T-shirt over my eyes.

The hostel is really good value, but I can't give them 5 stars because of a small issue. The 3 euro bedlinen surcharge is not made readily visible when booking. You pay it on arrival The website mentions it somewhere well hidden. This is, however, normal practice in Berlin hostels.

My suggestions for improvement are just minor ones:
- Inform guests about the bedlinen surcharge when they book. And maybe include a towel in the price.
- The lobby strongly needs noise damping, e.g. cealing panels.
- The management should try and grease the curtain rods with silicone, it may help. Or they should get other curtains, although they were brand new.

Room Tip: Rooms towards the back of the building certainly are brighter and quieter, and have a view. The 8-b...

Hi there I was in Berlin a month ago with friends only for one nite, the place was immaculate , rooms were spotless, staff were friendly too, and there are loads of transport options, so it would be very easy to get around the city, so looking forward to going back to this hostel, thanks.
