“Good location, very nice hotel”
Reviewed 26 September 2011

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights this September and really liked it. The decor is trying to be very modern but I wouldn't say it was offensive. We had a standard room and it was really perfect for the two of us. I know Berlin fairly well and the location was good, with easy transport links to Alexanderplatz and the tourist sights of Berlin. It is also close to a lot of the good clubs and bars.
The main negative point is that the hotel seems to have a bar area that they hire out and on our last night there was a very loud live band playing. Our room was two floors above this bar area and the music was very loud and clear coming through to our room. The management didn't seem to know when this music would end, as it was a privately hired area. However, when I complained to reception they immediately offered us a different room and it was also an upgrade to a big suite. Because the management were so quick to offer us a room change, I wouldn't say that this would put us off staying again aas everything else was perfect.
One other small point, is that internet is free in the bar and public areas but is REALLY expensive in the room (~7 euros for one hour).
Overall, I would recommend this hotel, regardless of the small negative points.

Let's face it, the thing that sets this hotel apart from others in Berlin is its very liberal use of the colour pink. Yes, the reception is pink, as is the door of your hotel room, as is the glass wall separating the room from the bathroom as is... well, you get it. But just to be sure: yes, the bedsheets are pink as well and so is the phone next to your bed.

I only stayed one night, but I'm guessing the appearance of this one color just about everywhere might get tiring after a while. Then again, this is a very decent hotel that has much to offer. It's right besides the river and at least some of the rooms have very good views. It's also brand new and offers a good, healthy breakfast with lots of choice. Even during my short stay, I became a fan of the excellent rainshower.

Minus points? Yes, a few: the tv-set is hidden in some sort of mirror that makes it hard to use during daylight. And in my case, I found a spider in the bathroom. Hard to avoid probably, but not a very nice experience to be sure. At least it wasn't pink.

Room Tip: The higher the better (because of the view)

This hotel is trying to be oh so trendy. It's in the "creative" area with MTV and a lot of media companies. It overlooks the river and in summers is lovely, in winter you can see the ice breakers chugging up the river. The restaurant is good, but standard bedrooms small. But one thing you cannot ignore is the decor. I am sure it appeals to young 20 / 30 somethings, but it gave me a headache, especially the pink bedroom. The TV embedded in the mirror looks great, and must have been expensive, but you cannot see it because of the refections.

The Nhow is brand new, located in the east of Berlin facing the river Spree, The interior design is flashy, in my opinion it tries to be sexier than it actually is, but nevertheless a good option in Berlin. cool bar, although the crowd is not as glamourous as the design of the Hotel suggests.

It's brand new and it's pink. Essentially.
It's kind of funky, but I supect it's even funkier when you're in your twenties - hoping to bump into a celebrity.
Well, I spotted Till Brönner, a popular German trumpeter. But with the Universal and MTV close by I assume there's good chances to meet and greet musicians
But the interieur is a bit from a plastic planet. All modular. They aspired to be a design hotel, but to me it appears to be a futuristic chain hotel.
It starts with the receptionists, all wearing funny little hats - diner-esque.
My first standard room wasn't serviced very well, lucky me because it was really small and all pink (incl. the sheets). It's a bit like in a Las Vegas trailer park dream.
(Funnily they said there is no gender difference. Men get the same style room.)
They upgraded me to a suite where there's also a lot of grey. The bathroom's spacious!
Overall - I felt not like the target audience.
But if you want to check-in somewhere else but a fluffy standard chain room: Try this!
One side note: Food is great! Ordered lunch, and really enjoyed it.

outside and inside, this hotel has something to Say. Not quite sure what it is ("Wir sind cool!" maybe?)....very striking abstract lobby/reception area (very glad of free espresso/capuccino machine on my 5.30am checkout, needed that jolt to get me moving), free use of Apples in business centre for people like me who don't want to schlep a laptop and STILL don't have a smartphone, very nice and extensive breakfast buffet (included for me, so didn't have to worry about the 30 EUR or whatever they get for it). Oh, the rooms...strange lino-like floor, I guess to absorb sound if you take advantage of the loaner guitars and have a jam session. And very pink! The bed linens...the bathroom...the toiletries...they have two recording studios here and advertise themselves as "the hotel where music lives" (hmm, guess there aren't any Hard Rock hotels in Germany?)....great view out over the Spree, including a chunk of the wall set outside the breakfast room. Very nice hotel, color scheme takes a bit of getting used to, very friendly staff, not sure about the value for money as I wasn't paying! But if you are <30 and got a few Euro....not a bad choice in Berlin. oh hey, almost forgot, elevators are all different colors inside! Including, you won't believe it......pink.
