We love food! This is purported to be the best food market in Berlin and we believe that claim - Wednesdays and Saturdays – we went on a Saturday. The nearest U-bahn stop is Nollendorfplatz then an easy stroll. Lots of lovely little cafes to stop for a coffee and/or a beer!
We only had two more days in our Berlin apartment otherwise we would have gone mad with our purchases! Fantastic fruit and vegetables, organic meats, fish, cheeses, olives, bread and pastries, conserves and honey and other more obscure things like extruded linseed (at least that’s what we think it was!!)
Then there are all sorts of items of flowers, clothing, hardware, kitchenware, jewellery, and other bric a brac – not to mention the odd itinerant musician!
A lovely way to spend a few hours, and then lots of happy eating to follow.

Such a great Saturday market. Good for shopping for food, flowers and lots more ( some off beat souvenirs)
Plan to go at lunchtime and select teh perfect lunch from eth variety of stalls.
One guy just sells smoked fish and I can promise if you buy a salmon fillet and ask him to pop it in a roll it will be one of your best lunches in Berlin.

Really enjoyed pottering about the market and admiring the beautiful displays of meat, fish, cheese, mushroom, crafts... you name it. Best thing about it? It's a Berliner's market and a bit off the beaten track so although there were tourists around (like me) it felt 'real'. Berliners where mooching around, meeting friends, sipping coffee, grabbing falafel and generally chilling out. Brill.

This market is the most diverse and colourful market ive seen. The range of stalls is outstanding covering all food types, clothes, nick nacks, freshly cooked foods, flowers etc. Its how ur local market used to be. its definately worth a visit even if all u buy is a freshly squeezed orange juice! Really easy to get to on the U2 to nollendorf n head towards to church spire! Was else is a saturday morning for?!
