This is a clean and modern apartment hotel in a brilliant location from which to explore Berlin. The S-Bahn is next door, and it's walking distance from Unter den Linden and most of the museums. And it has comfortable beds.

Unfortunately that's where the good news stops. The rooms are very ordinary in a modern "little boxes" style, but thrown up cheaply and some bits don't work. The staff verified that the only way to turn the light in our room on or off was to twist the bulb in its fitting for instance. And, although it theoretically has a kitchen there's no freezer, not even an tiny icebox in the fridge, the pans were disintegrating and there were almost no utensils.

The rooms were covered with in-your-face Australiana which I suppose makes a change as far as hotel art goes but was rather tasteless.

The very worst thing was the Internet access. Adina has decided that it can charge for Internet access, which is bad enough (and goes against the grain of most other hotels in its price range) but the mechanism it uses to charge makes the whole thing almost useless. Even if you pay you can only connect one device to the Internet at once and you get an error from the pay gateway signing in. The free Internet in the lobby is the same; it's just a token to give you a free hour for one device on the same broken pay service. If you travel with more than one Internet device, or consider that Internet should just be provided in the room price, this place won't work for you.

In summary - a great location let down by its maintenance and its Internet.

Dear Colin J, many thanks for your detailed and frank review. I am a little bit astonished about your experiences and impressions regarding our apartments. Of course it is always subjective where a little box starts by 40 sqm and a full equipped kitchen with all kinds of crockery, cutlery, water kettle, toaster pots and pan as well as a big fridge, two cook tops and a microwave. Yes you are right the fridge has no icebox, but in the past 2 years this was never a problem, as we always could assist our guests with an alternative to freeze in our big kitchen freezers, if necessary. Your comment regarding the lighting really shocked me, as of course all our lamps have their on switch as well as a main switch for the power support. I am still investigating what has happened and by who. This is definitely not our way to handle maintenance issues. In the worst case scenario, we always offer a room change. So I sincerely apologize for this kind of treating the issue. I would love to welcome you again in our hotel and please address your complaints directly to me or my duty managers during your stay, so that we can react immediately. Kind regards Annette Jost

Most of the reviews will give you a view of what you're getting here.
It's a small apartment, modern, clean - just what you need. Great shower; sauna downstairs pretty good value all in all.

We did the walking tour, which started about 2mins away from the apartments.

Also nearby is the Monster Kabinett - takes 20 minutes but great fun. They've made these mechanical monsters that are stored down in the cellar of a local building. Google search to find out where it is, but real close. Not on Trip Advisor

Restaurants that we eat at Hasir - great food but a bit pricy; Orange Cafe - bit of a walk, but super food and great value

Six night stay at this excellent hotel. The room was spotlessly clean with all the mod cons, a big comfy bed and great shower room. The location is perfect for easy access to a host of attractions and the public transport network and the staff are wonderful. But no free WiFi in the rooms is poor in this day. Yes free WiFi in lobby/bar, but after a days sightseeing I want to relax in room, download photos, spread out maps, check out TripAdvisor, plan next day and chill.

Well what can I say. From the minute you walked through the door it was just incredible. A warm professional and friendly reception from Alexandra. The rooms were perfect. The breakfast just first class. Sabrina was equally as friendly and did so much to be helpful. We went with 7 other friends all of whom were so impressed with this hotel. Easily found after getting off the TXL from Tegel airport which only cost €2.60 each way and runs every 10-15 minutes. Our weekend trip to Berlin was fabulous made even better by this first class hotel. Not forgetting the bar staff and the brilliant ladies on breakfast duty who were fabulous. Well done Adina.

Myself and husband stayed for his 30th. The hotel did not disappoint in any way, we had a studio room which had a lovely comfy double bed, air con/heating, a mini kitchen with fridge, utensils, hob, kettle and tea and coffee, (we only used the fridge) shower room with nice large towels provided, (no bath) TV with some English channels, Ipod dock, iron ironing board and hair drier. We made 3 calls to the uk lasting about 5 mins on the phone each and a local call and our bill was 7 euro.
We had pre paid for breakfast which was a mix of breads, cereals, eggs cooked to order, bacon, cheese, smoked salmon fruit and more. My husband and I enjoyed every day!!
Happy hour cocktails are fab just make sure it's definately happy hour when you order as we placed our order 2 mins early and were charged full price.
We never had a problem with wifi not included, we just got a free hour code from reception in the morning and in evening, and that was enough for us!
Jacuzzi and sauna are great after a hard day walking, towels are down there.
Great location with lovely restaurants, train station, supermarket, cash machine just around the corner!
Berlin is an amazing city we took a bus tour as it was our first time there and we enjoyed it.
We would go back to this hotel if we ever return to berlin!
