Not to be missed as one of the highlights of the city especially its survival of the bombing given the destruction nearby

Being at the Brandenburger Gate in Berlin felt like being at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Empire State building in N.Y. or at the Coloseum in Rome. It is beautifully lit at night!

“Historic places”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

The Brandenburg Gate is a must for every tourist coming to Berlin. Historically it is a very important 18th cent. landmark, one of the most important ones in Europe. Just think of the speeches of Presidents John Kennedy ("I am a Berliner"), Ronald Reagan ("Mr.M Gorbatchov, please tear down this wall"} and the memorable speeches of Bill Clinton and Barak Obama held in front of this historic Gate.
Tourists interested in World War II, will know that Adolf Hitler held huge parades here.
Do come here in the evening when the Gate is lit up. Very impressive for young and old!

“Beautiful site”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

like everything else in Berlin this is another iconic site. even with thousands of visitors there is plenty of room to take photos. Beautiful place to be in the evening. We walked to Brandbenburg gate and path leading toward the gate with fountains and cafes is just lovely. I just love everything about Berlin. Very clean city.
