Very well put together and thought provoking . A must visit to Berlin to get a full picture of a very twisted period in its history.

“This is the Real thing (must see!)”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

We have seen the wall in the Niederkirchnerstrasse (near Checkpoint Charlie, walking through the Zimmerstrasse a 5 minute walk). By the way, it's not that grand show-off across the Checkpoint Charlie Museum. It will cost you nothing, it's just in a street.

“Detailed, distressing, and geared to education the German populace”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

To stand on the ground where Gestapo and SS headquarters stood before being bombed may be all you need if you've seen any other sites in Europe on the brutality of WWII and the Nazis. The next level is to see the outside displays and work through 15 stops, with an audio guide if the museum is open. The inside has a short orientation film in English. The rest of the building has displays that work through historically with graphic photos, documents in German, including newspapers and letters. The most interesting part for me was the post-war period which explained how few Nazis were actually tried and how many were released from prison in a short time and brought back into society and even government during the reconciliation period of the 1950s.

Lots of detail--more than most can handle. It's clear that the museum is geared very much towards educating younger Germans about what happened and why.

“The side of the holocaust story not usualy told by the Germans”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

Must see exhibition located on the site of the WWII head quarters of the SS.

Still plenty of the old building to see.

The exhibition is quite shocking to see with more human and family side of the monsters that were the brains behind the "final solution"

Lots to see and read so give yourselves at least 2 hours minimum.

Some of the images of course are very graphic so young children may not understand what they are seeing or looking at.

Amazing quality of the displays, great lighting for photography and the staff are very helpful.

Full wheelchair access is available to the display, and the remains of the building which are below street level, but still out in the open.

Right out front is a perfectly preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, in all states of its timeline.

Right next door (to the right of the display standing on the road looking at the display) is a building that clearly shows massive damage from bullets during the fight for Berlin.

This display is located in te heart of WWII third reich territory, and all the surviving buildings around were all admin and controll buildings for the third reich and its management.

No food or drinks are available at this exhibition.

“Must see”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 via mobile

Combining an impressive museum of Nazi terror across Europe with remainders of the Berlin Wall. Located in the former Gestapo headquarters. How symbolic can it become. A must see for anyone interested in the history of the continent. Serious business, but really worth a couple of hours of your time.
