I stayed here in early July and was very happy with it. The Sofitel next door is cheaper, but the room is half (if not less) of the size. The Regent's rooms are spacious and well appointed, clearly renovated in the last few years. The concierge was very helpful and even helped me locate a drink cooler in the city (no easy feat). Get a rate that includes breakfast. Their breakfast is excellent, but I wouldn't pay 35 euros for it, so better to be "included" in the cost.
Aside from the hotel in particular, I thought the location was excellent. Great central location next to the Gendamenmarkt and near the Brandenburg Gate. Very close to the Stadt Mitte and Franzoschises Str Ubahn stops and the Friedrichstr S-Bahn is about a 5 min walk. I would run along the Spree River each morning and it was about a 3 min jog there. Plus you have Vau, borchadt, and Newtown right near buy for food. In another city, this hotel would be 400-500 euros/night, not 200. I will definitely stay here when I next return to Berlin.More
