Regent Berlin is a fantastic hotel with grand rooms and a regal enviornment. Its location makes lends it to being in the midst of all that is Berlin. Great staff and always there to help you. The foyer is grand and is decorated with fresh flowers.

I am typing this in the Regent hotel on the 2nd day of our 3 day stay here after traveling in Eastern Europe. Inquired about the price of breakfast...35E ($50 US)!!! How about just coffee...5.5E per cup of coffee!!! You've got to be kidding me especially since there isn't even an in-room coffee machine option. Walked up to the Sofitel instead and paid 4E for pots of coffee. Just because they can gouge you doesn't make it right. Loved the room & staff but coffee service shouldn't cost this much.

RegentBerlin, Manager at Regent Berlin, responded to this reviewResponded 15 July 2014

Dear Gardensllc,

thank you for your review here on TripAdvisor on the occasion of your current stay with us. It is somehow surreal having you stay with and writing about us and at the same time (or just a couple of minutes later) trying to get in contact with you while sitting on the desk in the same building...

It is difficult dealing with an alias not knowing who we are talking to. We would have preferred the face to face version of this conversation. So if you do get to read this while you are still at the Regent you may ask for the management and we will be more than happy to go through the details of your review. Too sad that we did not meet up before having you rate us just average on the internet because it is so easy to get you an in-room coffee machine.

With best regards,

Your team of the Regent Berlin

This was my second stay at The Regent and I wasn't disappointed. Everything from the staff, to the room itself, to the magnificent flowers in the foyer, was faultless. I wondered if a record had been kept of my previous stay, because on that occasion I had asked for an office chair in my room so I could work on my computer -- and when I got to my room this time, there was an office chair! Apart from the luxurious comfort of the hotel itself, it is so conveniently located -- near Galleries Layfayette and other major shops, to great restaurants like Lutter and Wenger and Vau, and of course to Museum Island. (And to top it off, they had a special rate for seniors!)

Room Tip: A room facing Charlottenstrasse was fairly quiet.

then i would move to Berlin. But i can't. This is the cleanest hotel i have seen. Photos are generally are not permitted for the courtesy of the guests, but the lobby is done almost all in italian marble, and the rooms are luxurious. The staff is excellent. The location is excellent. I did not eat or drink at the hotel, but the restaurant is michelin-rated. This is one of the few hotels where i have stayed, that i have not wanted to leave the room. I timed room service. They responded in three minutes. This hotel is exemplary of a five-star.

We stayed at this lovely hotel eight days. We have never received such wonderful service. The staff is perfect, our room was large and opulent, and we had a great view of the city. The breakfast was great. The lobby takes your breath away with its beautiful marble. We ate at their Michelin star restaurant and it was excellent! During our stay they sent up a fabulous box of chocolates. Cem Wieldt was the best concierge we have ever had! He offered terrific suggestions for sights, great places to eat, and went out of his way to be helpful! The location is central and you can walk to everything. If we were to find fault we would say, because we are older the doorknob on our room was hard to open. We highly recommend this terrific hotel and we would not stay anywhere else in Berlin.

Room Tip: We like higher up so we can appreciate the view.
