+ location at Kurfurstendamm shopping street. Metro next to hotel, train couple of minutes walk
+ Kempinski service level never fails
+ Room nicely decorated
+ clean
+ nice spa area, not gorgeous though
+ wonderful cafe downstairs
+ congierce knows what they are doing

- room was smaller than expected
- got first smoking room, staff changed it to non-smoking very fast
- hotel needs some renovation in couple of years
- internet not free of charge!!

If you manage to catch a good deal, it is very safety choice!

Our family (two adults, one 10 year old) stayed at the Kempinski Bristol for five nights. We had booked a junior suite and requested early check-in.

When we arrived at the hotel (just before 10:00), our suite was ready. All the staff were exceedingly friendly and efficient.

Our room had two bathrooms (one with shower only, the other with shower / bath combination), and our son was very happy on his fold-out bed in the lounge area.

The hotel is well located, with the main entrance on a cross-street just off the trendy Kurfurstendamm Avenue. We found a delightful bakery one block down where we had a very good daily breakfast (at a total cost of less than the per head charge at the hotel), and there was never a lack of options for dinner at restaurants close-by.

There is an u-bahn station within easy walking distance from the hotel, various hop-on hop-off tourist buses ply the trade in KuDamm and the hotel was a reasonable taxi fare from both Tegel Airport and the Hauptbahnhoff.

The hotel swimming pool / spa area is located in the basement (which sounds strange where I come from) but was a real delight, and my son and I were regular visitors at the end of the day.

My only complaint would be the decor (a bit stuck in the early 80s) but that can be forgiven in the context of our overall experience. They are in the process of upgrading the hotel, and I am sure that the newly renovated rooms will be much better!

Room Tip: Ask for a newly renovated room.

We stayed at Kempinski from Sunday August 26th to Thursday August 30th.

For our arrival at the airport we had booked Limousine Service from the hotel to pick us up. A great start for stay.

The hotel lies at the Kurfuerstendamm, which is one of the main shoppingstreets in Berlin. And it is no problem to get from the hotel to all the sightseeing around the city with taxi, bus or subway.

When we arrived at the hotel it was like it usually is at Kempinski hotels, relaxing, quick and serviceminded check in.

The room was big, with a big window for overview over the city. The bathroom was nice with both shower and bathtub. We also had a separate extra WC.

The service was amaizing, with room service twice a day, both in the morning, and in the evening.

After the evening room service they always left you a extra note with tomorrows weather forecast.

On the evenings you can choose to go to the bar, Bristol Bar, with very nice music and energic bartenders. Next to the bar, close to the reception, there were a salon, which looked nice, but we didn't have time to stay there.

There are two additional restaurants which are part of the Hotel, Kempinski Grill and Reinhardts. We tried Reinahrdts for some Ice cream, and it was SOOO big and nice. You can sit and eat, and watch the time flies by if you like that.

The day before we left we also tried the pool and the spa. The Spa was really relaxing. Ulrikke, the spa therapist, made the treatment to a relaxing session. It was nice after 3 days of walking around. You can choose between a lot of different treatments.

Danke schön

We were delighted that the manager could find us a suite and a double room for our family of 5 after our dismal experience at the Augusta Hotel across the street. Our suite was enormous, with a bar that included cutlery and even a stovetop for, I suppose, a late supper of champagne and scrambled eggs with caviar. The bathroom was stellar, with shower, separate tub, double sinks, abundant towels and toiletries and the beds seemed to have new mattresses. The living room of our suite had a pull-out double sofa bed for our daughter. Some of the furniture was not updated, so I suppose you could quibble with that, but everything was spotless and beautifully arranged. Fresh fruit arrived for each room. The concierge booked us into a terrific restaurant, 'House of Literature', and helped us arrange a bike tour. The pool/spa area was perfect after some of the hottest weather on record during our stay. The Tiergarten is a short walk away, as is the train station. Kurfuerstendamm is a main high end shopping street. This is not the ultra luxurious Adlon Kempinski (the Michael Jackson dangling baby one) but it is a lovely and very reasonable top tier hotel.

We booked this hotel mainly because we got a very good rate for two nights, and were very happy on our arrival to be greeted with warmth and friendliness, and we were happy with the location. The rooms were comfortable and I enjoyed the old world charm of the decor. We did not eat at the hotel as there were numerous places around the area to discover.

Room Tip: We like a quiet room and we had one overlooking a courtyard.
