This large hotel, though just 6 stories, is on Ku-damm at the corner of Fasanenstraße, and the U1 Uhlandstrasse metro station is right there. Major shopping and restaurants are nearby, including a large number of restaurants 10 minutes by foot on Bleibtreustraße around Savignyplatz . A Starbucks is across from the hotel. There are some bus lines, including airport buses on the Ku'damm. Zoo station is also nearby where one can get city double decker bus lines 100 and 200 to view the major tourist sites, as well as rail services and S-bahn lines. Our hotel room was a bit small, but with a nice view of Ku-damm. Amenities were fine; TV service offered an extraordinarily large selection of channels. Though the hotel offers parking, there are various large city garages nearby including Neues Kranzler Eck garage, entrance on Kantstrasse, where parking is EUR 10 per day maximum or EUR 1 per hour. Air conditioning on a hot July day was a bit weak, but not uncomfortable. There are no temperature controls nor fan controls, simply on and off, with a recommendation to keep curtains and windows closed to keep room cool. For those on a budget who wish to use WiFi for free, one needs to choose: Kempinski, then bill hotel room, then scroll all the way down the pricing menu to ultimately find: 30 minutes free. After using it for 30 minutes, it automatically shuts off, but can again be reactivated after 30 minutes. This can be used simultaneously for multiple devices, such as phones or laptops. Not ideal, but better than some other famous chains operating in Europe.
