“Excellent hotel and staff with a good location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2011

We stayed at the Adlon for three days and had a wonderful time. the staff were charming and very helpful. As we had a late flight out they gave us a very late check out time. The hotel is high class luxury without being overwhelming and has an excellent pool and spa. The room was very comfortable overlooking a terrace garden. The Adlon's location is very good and it is easy walking distance to historical locations like Check Point Charlie and the Wall. There are several good resturants nearby in Charlottenstrausse and the Concierge was very helpful. We had a very good time and would use this hotel again.

Room Tip: we had a room overlooking a terrace garden

centrally located, hotel Adlon is quite a legend in itself in this vibrant city of Berlin. I was here principally for a 3-day conference and a couple of meetings. on work trips, where I sleep isn't a key factor so it's left to my office to coordinate but the Adlon worked its magic on me. you can't beat the views over the Brandenburger Tor. the well-maintained standards of tradition intermingled with the luxurious touches transported me each evening to another world. I hardly felt like I was in Berlin for work. the hotel houses a d very fine restaurant too. hardly needed to step out for anything. remarkable!

I had three night stays at this hotel.
I waited for four hours until check-in. Then they gave me the room but did not teach the way to the room.
I seek room but could not reach. By asking the bar staff I could reach.
When I asked at check-in, the Front staff said "you can go by stairs" just only.

I had the first experience to meet the Front staff in world.

The infamous Adlon reassured us of the Kempinski brand irrespective of where you are in the world. However, the Adlon oozes class and is a fare reflection for what you pay. We were treated exceptionally well and never felt uncomfortable in it's elegance. Staff were friendly and were able to pitch their approach with guests applicably. We enjoyed their down to earth approach and the manager also spent time with us which was more than appreciated given the night occupancy rate due to the marathon.

Breakfast is dramatically overpriced which didn't inconvenience us due to my participation in the marathon (not wanting to gain too many lbs). We had a lovely suite over looking untenable den linden and were within 200m of The Brandenburg Gate. I made sure I ran a quick time in order to get back to our delightful Adlon surroundings!!!

Perfect location at the Brandenburg gate, the Adlon is the right mix of comfort, luxury and Berlin spirit. We stayed at the Adlon during Berlin marathon weekend. The hotel had special perks for runners. The rooms are large, comfortable and classy. The service is perfect. The lobby lounge reflects Berlin and is very relaxing.

This fine hotel not only offers excellent service, attractive rooms but also seems fairly priced for an hotel of such quality. Well located it is easy walk to other Berlin neighbors as the hotel is indeed central. Buses and the subway are also within a few feet of the hotel. In back of the hotel on Wilhelm street there are many reasonably prices restaurants and even an attractive coffee shop in which one can have breakfast at a moderate fee. Needless to say food services including beverages are outrageously expensive in the hotel lounge which is often very crowded. Frankly I would have preferred a more intimate experience but can not really complain. Treats were delivered to the room on a daily basis and we were sent home with a DVD movie about the hotel's history. A good place to stay for a first Berlin visit!

Our family group stayed three days at the Kempinski. The hotel is very easy to get to from Tagel Airport, 20 minutes on the a regular bus takes you almost outside the entrance. We had read reviews and upgraded our room (50 euros per night supplement) as the forecast was for hot weather and the hotel had been criticised for poor air conditioning. Others in our group did not.

The modern rooms were excellent, well appointed with enough sitting area for visitors. The breakfast was very good and the reception staff/ concierge very attentive and helpful. The main lobby is very grand and the hotel has a good ambience. The pool and spa area is fine but the exercise room is very basic. The criticism of the old rooms was well founded as the air conditioning is not good and can really spoil a stay in hot weather.

Unless you are on a tight budget, the upgrade to a better room is desirable.
