Owner description: This huge lush park stretches through central Berlin and provides a relaxing contrast to the bustle of the rest of the city.

You can enter the park from any side, and then walk comfortable along either the paved or the sandy paths. You can even stretch out on the grass with a picnic or a book. Walking through the trees brings a connection to nature and to stillness, a wonderful respite from the hard granite sidewalks and the rather cold and block-like architecture of most of Berlin.

Tiergarten is a must visit on any trip to Berlin, a beautiful and expansive park situated near many attractions in Berlin. The park itself is a great place to relax with a picnic or a beer, or just to walk about and enjoy. There are some great restaurants down near the S bahn

Once the hunting grounds of the royals, the Tiergarten (animal garden) is a600+ acre park that serves as the green heart of Berlin. Stretching from the Brandenburg Gate to the Berlin Zoo, the park is home to two beer gardens, miles of paths, lakes, ponds and lovely landscapes. The River Spree serves as the northern border of the park and the government district, the embassy district, Kulturforum and Potsdamer Platz form the southern edge.
Our hotel the InterContinental was on the edge of the Tiergarten and a walk through the green space was a wonderful way to experience the pulse of the city.

We came here everyday at lunchtime for our picnic to get away from the heat and noise of the city for an hour. Lovely place.
