“Hidden gem restaurants here”
Reviewed 18 October 2013

We found this by accident when visiting Zur gerichtslaube restaurant and ended up in this area to eat again the next day. Its so lovely and quaint, yet contained our favourite restaurant of the trip. There are lots of little shops, and the church, this really is worth a visit. A real hidden gem, and some places are right on the water too.

“More 80s than medieval”
Reviewed 3 July 2013

Beyond an impressive church and a statue there was very little to see here. It would not have been recognisable as a medieval quarter without the signposting. Walking along the river nearby was enjoyable but I was glad we only went into the Nicholas Quarter while passing rather than making a special effort.

“Stunning”
Reviewed 20 May 2013

One of the nicest parts of Berlin, you would never have thought you were in the middle of a big city and couldn't believe it was reconstructed during the communist era!

“One of the nicer parts of town”
Reviewed 14 May 2013

This is a nice, but busy part of Berlin. A few small streets round the church with lots of bars and restaurants.

“A see of peace.”
Reviewed 9 May 2013

A nice peaceful spot to visit and sit and relax. Completely rebuilt after the war to look like an old village. The area includes the oldest pub in Berlin.
