Booked for first night arrival in Berlin. Got a deal on a spa suite (#213) - the shower was so good, I took 3 between 4:45 pm arrival and 6:30 am the next day! Serious though, the bed was perfect after a transcontinental flight, and the roof garden a great way to relax. Close to shopping and coffee spots in the somewhat sterile, refurbished eastern Mitte.

Breakfast, though, should have been included. We were shocked to find that we inadevertently spent €37 each on it.

Thank you very much for your kind review. We are pleased indeed making you an enjoyable stay. Breakfast rate of 32.00 € may not be seem in the lower segment, but you will offer a great variety and healthy foods as our superfoods are. Should your travel plans bring you back to Berlin we would be delighted to be your first choice. The Westin Grand Berlin, Andrea W.

This hotel is not a a Trip Advisor favorite and I don't get that! My wife and I had a great experience at a reasonable cost. First of all, great location at the intersection of Unter den Lindem and Friedricstrasse. Service was great. Lobby and hallways were kind of Old World (i.e. slightly dated), but the rooms were bright and very well appointed. Fabulous bed gave us four nights of great sleep, very well lit bathroom mirrors, and tons of sockets to recharge your devices. We stayed here at the end of a sixteen night/four hotel vacation (two of which were very highly rated and expensive), but thus was was our best experience!

My wife and I required 1 night in Berlin prior to our flight home and used a combination of points and cash for the stay. As a married couple with gold status, we were surprised to be offered a room that required an elevator to the 2nd floor, a long walk to the back of the building to the new section and an elevator ride to the 1st floor of the new section. What is this, Being John Malkovich?

That initial room had two twin beds and a view of the construction going on at Under den Linden, trash basically. They corrected the situation but I was disappointed that the check-in clerk made a poor decision on his own, didn't ask questions and didn't think thru the scenario. With only a 1 night stay I frequently get a very nice upgrade. My amenity was free WiFi, yippee! The whole thing was one big wet blanket.

Everyone raves about the location as being centrally located and walkable to Checkpoint Charlie (don't blink, you might miss it). Maybe I don't understand Berlin. The city was so ravaged by WWII and the Cold War that nothing with history or culture remains. Everything is brand new. I don't get that excited about parks.

The Westin is near a fitness center, Cartier store and McDonalds. Brandenburg Gate? I'll take the Arc de Triomphe. To be fair it's also walkable to Museum Island, but I found Berlin so dull that I could not muster the energy to check anything out, so my wife and I polished off three bottles of wine over the course of the afternoon. That part I liked. But, I cannot recommend this property.

Room Tip: Don't let them put you in the new section of the hotel until the construction site cleans up the...

Just got back from 6 nights at this hotel. Had to change our rooms twice first because a pipe underneath the carpet blew up so it was all wet the second room had a cockroach in the bed...
We had trouble with electricity in the room from time to time.
The service at the hotel was at a very low level. We requested to speak to the GM but we were told he is busy and won't be able to find time during our week stay. Not to mention I am a platinum spg member.
Saying all that the location is great but the level of a youth hostel...

We stayed in this Starwood property recently to explore Berlin. It is very well-located. We were able to walk to many of the sights: Tiergarden, Brandenburg Gate, Museum Island, and even the TV Tower. Our garden view room was pleasant and quiet. We could hear some noise from other rooms occasionally, but overall, it was a quiet place. Shower & bath were good, and the bed & bedding were excellent. We did not eat in the hotel, but there are many restaurants in the area. The bar was nice, and made excellent cocktails. The swimming pool at the spa was small but adequate for a stretch after a long flight, however the showers lacked soap both times I used the pool. There are U-Bahn stations being constructed near the hotel, and when those are completed the location will be super-convenient for using public transportation. I would recommend this hotel, and I would stay there again.

Stayed at this hotel from May 3rd to 4th 20014. In a suite overlooking a garden that is well landscaped. It's a surprise to find an Eco - friendly ambience in the middle of urban Berlin.
The space is adequate and the fittings modern.
The stair hall is iconic and the restaurant had good service. The concierge were friendly , nice and courteous .Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and also given a chip of the WALL with authentication.

The hotel is ideally located. Walking distance to the Brandenburger Tor and a nice walk through Unter den linden street to Aleksander platz.
My room was on the 3rd floor and it was spacious, however some of the decoration is old and will need renovation soon.
Tha main entrance, restaurant, staircase... looks classy.
The worst part, WiFi is not free!! 15€ per day or 3.50€ per a single hour!
