We chose the hotel because it was very central and we had a relatively limited time in the city, Friday through Monday morning.
The hotel was excellently located within a 20minute walk to Alexanderplatz from where you can get transport links to the whole city. We chose to take one of the many bus tours over a two day period which was money well spent and you can get access to both tours immediately from Alexanderplatz. It should also be noted that if you choose to get around by the U Bahn system, there is a station, Stadtmitte right outside the hotel, very convenient.
Back to the hotel. First impressions are very good as you enter the spacious lobby area with concierge service available. We were traveling with friends and we all had the same standard of room being the Guest King which was just about perfect for our needs. Good décor and excellent standard of furniture including a comfortable bed. Our room, 6069 overlooked the garden area, perhaps not as good as a city view but as we didn’t spend much time looking out of the window, no problem.
We were lucky enough to have access to the executive lounge facilities which gave us enough breakfast so as not to have to visit the breakfast restaurant, if we returned early enough from sightseeing, afternoon tea and cake was most welcome. In the evening, from around 6pm, alcoholic drinks are also served in the lounge providing our group with a pre-dinner drink, also very welcome after a long day. If you have the option to use the lounge, seriously consider it, it’s a very good service with service levels from all staff very high.
Not taking anything away from the hotel staff in general. All were excellent and very attentive when needed, no complaints.
The spa at the hotel was closed for maintenance during our visit but I guess this could not be helped and didn’t really distract from the overall enjoyment of the short stay.
One small point whcih is becoming less of an issue in most hotels is lack of free wifi access in the rooms. Hotels such as Hilton should be able to provide this in this day and age! Should say that wifi was available for free in the executive lounge, so not all bad.
Overall, I would have no hesitation to recommend this hotel for its great location and excellent staff. We booked through Expedia and got a great deal for three nights, take advantage of this if you get the chance.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 6th floor and in our room, 6069, shower water presure could have been better. People we travelled with stayed on the same floor and didnt seem to have a problem. You may wish to check if you like a powerful shower.

I have stayed in many Hiltons and this is a good one. We stayed here for a family holiday. Excellent location, Just across the German Cathedral. What a view! Also just a few meters away from metro station, shopping places, sightseeing busses. It is 15 minutes walking distance from museums. We stayed in a junior suit which was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was good and executive lounge was very good. They say that there is free wifi in the lobby.

The best thing about this hotel seems to be its location in the most beautiful square in Berlin. At the square the visitor finds two great churches and a theatre. Since the hotel is in the center of the city it is close walk to everywhere. The rooms are nicely appointed with classic German elegance. We had a breakfast in a beautiful room (see photo) with a marvelous view. Also the breakfast buffet was enormous and three friendly waitresses did care about us very well.

We've been here twice - the first time a few years ago for our honeymoon, and we were back again this year for another trip o our favourite city.

The location is perfect - right in the middle of Mitte, on the beautiful Gendamenmarkt. Easy walking distance of Unter den Linden, Museum Island, Checkpoint Charlie, etc, and not too far away from the East Side Gallery.

It's a lovely hotel, with great service and helpful staff. Rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. Breakfast is rather expensive, though there's a Cae Einstein on the opposite corner, where we tend to go for breakfast and to download the Guardian!

Great restaurants all around Gendamenmarkt too.

The hotel is at a great location in the middle of a tourist area. We stayed here in two connecting rooms for four nights. The lobby is large and beautiful. Our connecting rooms were large and very clean. Breakfast each morning was great with every breakfast selection you can imagine. The indoor pool was decent size and heated but be careful of the persons swimming laps. They banged into our children several times. The wifi worked well during our stay. There is free wifi for up to an hour in the lobby but expensive in the rooms.. Parking is also expensive at 23 euros a night for self parking. We requested turn down service and that is what we got. They came and turned down the beds. No changing used towels, closing drapes, or anything else like we have had at other Hilton Hotels. After the second night they never showed up for turn down service. The front desk never seemed to have enough staff as there was always a line and several positions vacant. We were told we could exchange money at the front desk but the exchange rate was much higher then the bank rate. We exchanged money at a bank not far from the hotel. Overall is was a very good stay.
