1 day is needed for this trip. Must visit for couple , family and nature lovers.
Goto Wansee station and take 218 bus to its last stop. A boat will take you to island which is just 2 min ride. Find out last bus timing in evening and plan day accordingly.

Carry lots of food , water etc.
Start the day early , don't trouble peacocks or try to touch them. Just sit quietly and they will come to you :) If you're lucky they will perform dance as well.

Nice to see Indian national bird having its own island.

1. authority should fine people smoking inside island
2. They can have rental bikes , electric vehicles as it'll be helpful to cover all the island without tiring
3. More maps at regular intervals and more toilets will be helpful.

Took a boat trip from Wannsee and stopped off at Peacock Island for a few hours and we are glad we did as the island is green and beautiful with plenty of footpaths to walk along to make sure you see all of the islands delights. Unfortunately we never had as long as we would have liked so never saw the whole of the island but will make sure we have longer on our next visit to Berlin. The Peacocks are so beautiful and tame and are not frightened by all the visitors and the castle stands out so well in the sunshine. Well worth visiting this island and making a day of it...lovely! Okay there is a 3 Euro charge for the ferry over to the island but there is no charge for the island itself so a very cheap attraction.

Took a trip to Lake Wannsee and then the ferry to this island with the family today. Had a great time walking around this beautiful green island complete with wild peacocks (that are not afraid of people and will eat out of your hand!), an 18th century faux castle and many forest paths and walkways. Had coffee and brunch at a nice cafe amidst the trees on the eastern end of the island before completing our circuit and catching the ferry back to the mainland. Well worth the time!

nice island within the city limits. Stopped on our seven lake ship tour to visit the island. After arriving by the ferry's landing point, there was a long queue of guests, it took around 30 minutes to board the ferry, and you have to expect to pay 3 Euros for it, which i think is a rip off, we paid for the 2 hours ship ride 11 Euros, so why should the 30 meters or so cost 3 Euros per person? Had only a small walk on the island, as we had to return in time. Nice for a walk, not sure if it is worth the time & money.

I read about Peacock Island & as I love Peacocks I just had to visit. I honestly had not encountered Peacocks in many years so this was very exciting for me. My husband & I took the bus which drops you off at Peacock Island and as it's the very last stop you don't have to worry about missing your dropoff! The first sound we heard was of course the Peacocks. We waited about 15mins for the ferry to bring us across to the island which is the shortest distance you will probably travel by ferry! The grounds are so beautiful & really well maintained. There are markers that guide you around the grounds so you shouldn't get lost! There are quite a few interesting buildings to see that are great picture opportunities. After walking quite a bit enjoying the peaceful surroundings we came across the Peacocks in their menagerie, a little noisy but so beautiful:) A little further down the track we came across a single Peacock perched on a branch, this was picture time! We stayed for a couple of hours & then headed back to catch the last bus from Peacock Island. This is a great place to get away from everything. Just bring a nice picnic & set up wherever you choose. You could spend all day here:)
