Owner description: Often a tough ticket, the Berlin Philharmonic features some of the best classical music to be had in Germany.

We were fortunate to get two tickets for the Berlin Philharmoniker end of season concert at Waldbuhne in late June. What a fantastic experience. The Waldbuhne is a superb atmospheric outdoor amphitheatre . It was at its best on a lovely clear evening. The Philharmonic was conducted by the incredible young Venezuelan Gustavo Dudamel and he was just fabuluous. There were two pieces by Tschaikowsky then Brahms 1st Symphony. The final movement in particular, as well as the encores were magnificent. What an evening and what an orchestra!

We traveled to Berlin with a large family group and a month before our trip we purchased tickets to the Philharmonic. What a great way to experience the life and culture of this exciting city! After dining nearby, the 12 of us enjoyed an extraordinary concert featuring violinist Hilary Hahn and an exciting piece by Tchaikovsky. That evening truly was a highlight of our visit to Berlin and allowed me feel like a local resident for those wonderful hours.

We went to a lovely children's concert, and were impressed with the Orchestra, the mood, the snacks, and especially the architecture. The Berlin Philharmonic is strongly recommended.

We went to the Waldbuhne, the outdoor stage at the Olympic park. Gustavo Dudamel was the guest conductor. They played Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet" and "The Storm", and several of Brahms' pieces. It was wonderful! They received four standing ovations. Reserve your tickets in advance. I did, but not early enough. We had poor seats, but the music was still fantastic. If you enjoy this type of music, then this is a must in Berlin.
