“Real Cantonese restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2014

I've been to this restaurant with my girlfriend (who is also Cantonese) thanks to the Chinese version of TripAdvisor. The restaurant looks clean and cured even in the details.
As starters, we ordered some dim-sum which were really delicious and fresh, served in the traditional Cantonese way. Our advice is to order some of them and share them all together.
The main courses are served with a big pot of rice without any extra charge.
Polite and friendly staff.
In few words, one of the rare real Chinese restaurants you can find in Europe.

Here we talk about autentic chinese food in berlin.
The food is very nice compared with the avarage "chinese food" in berlin, but the staff.....they need to calm down and try to be more friendly even in a stress situation : )

“Excellent Recommendation!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2013

When we travel we like to find local blogs written by people who love to eat. This restaurant was found on two blogs & they were both spot on with their descriptions. Excellent food, odd & abrupt service (but not bad) & not much atmosphere. We ordered a variety of dim sum for our kids & then we had a veggie dish & a tofu dish - everything was delicious. They only take cash so be prepared!

“Good Chinese (Cantonese) restaurant in Berlin”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2013

If you look for Chinese food place with the original taste as in Asia, Aroma is your answer. All the food in the wide range of menu are good and tasty. The place may not be super-cosy but the service is good and quick, with the service personels speaking in, as far as I know, Chinese, German, English and Thai!!, great help for the Asian visitors who may not keen on Communication in German. Another advantage is the opening time until 02:00 am. The disadvantage is that it is quite hard to find parking place in the vicinity of the restaurant during early evening. But this should not be the case getting later at night.

“Extremely disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2013

Hubby and I had dim sum at Aroma back in June 2012 and we really enjoyed it. We went back on Sunday, very much looking forward to a dim sum fix, but we were were extremely disappointed. We ordered many of the same dim sums as we did last time ( 小籠包 Shanghai steamed buns, 蝦餃 prawn dumplings, 糯米雞 steamed sticky rice with chicken in lotus leaf wrap, 蘿蔔糕 turnip cake, 叉燒包 barbeque pork buns, 牛肉腸粉 beef rice noodle rolls), but the quality was quite poor. The pastry/skins of the dumplings were thick and sticky, the turnip cake didn't have much turnip flavour at all, and just generally, the dim sums were sub-par. We will definitely not be returning to Aroma for dim sum again.
