I stayed three nights and I was impressed by the size of the room. Don't let the fact that this hotel is part of the Comfort/Quality/Clarion chain dissuade you - for those looking for the European hotel experience, this is very much a European-style hotel. It is a nice old building and the rooms are more like European-style than American-style. I booked a double, it also had a sofa and two chairs surrounding a large coffee table, a cabinet with decent-sized television on it, a desk and chair, a settee, and a stand-alone wardrobe closet. My room faced the street and had two large windows with double panes that swung open - plenty of fresh air.
Staff is very friendly and fluent in English. Hotel is a great location, just a short block off Wittenburgplatz. KaDeWe is about a 3 minute walk.
Positives: location is great; friendly, English-speaking staff; large, comfortable room.
Negatives: even though there is free wi-fi, it times out after a while (perhaps 1 hour?) and you're in the middle of doing something when suddenly the internet stops working - after trying to reload a few pages it will redirect you to the sign-in page again - a little annoying, but it IS free; the bathtub was a bit awkward to stand in to take a shower - it had a very narrow (almost rounded) floor to it; there is a lift, but you'll need to carry your bags up at least one flight of stairs to get to it - rooms on the same floor as reception have two flights of stairs to go up.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street get morning sun and have a decent view - the hotel is at the end of the stre...

Old style hotel just behind Kurfyrstendam and the center of Berlin. Very, very helpful personnel - clean and big rooms - not like London or Paris...:-)
And very reasonably prices.
This is the right place to stay for at trip to Berlin - and in 3 minutes walking distance of KaDeWE....

Location, location, location. 50 m from Wittenbergplatz and KaDeWe, and 300 m from Nollendorfplatz it's the perfect location in Schöneberg.

There's an elevator, but it starts half a floor up from the entrance, and stops on every half floor, so you'll have to do a bit of luggage carrying yourself no matter what.

Out room was large (no 31), the bathroom tiny, tiny.
The staff was friendly. The breakfast was ok, but not worth the 9€ they charged, you'll be better off at the local Bakery, Tole's Backshop, right across the Lietzenburger Straße.
The room was always clean and cleaned no matter how late we left the room.
The mattress and pillows were a little too soft for my taste, but the bed was big and the linen good quality.
The draft from the balcony doors was heavy, but the radiator more than made up for that. The walls, floors and ceilings also seem paper thin, so the noise between the rooms was at times a bit bothersome.
But still I liked the hotel!

Stayed here 25/26 March. Can't fault the staff or the cleanliness of the room and the breakfast was great. The biggest problem was the smoking in the hotel. I don't smoke and i also have asthma, I booked a non-smoking room. This made no difference at all. Our room filled up with other people's cigarette smoke and it was pretty unbearable for a non-smoker. I did notice that smoking in public places in Berlin was routine.
I would be more than happy to stay at this hotel again if they enforced a strict no smoking policy, otherwise not a chance!

This hotel was clean and neat, with nice facilities with a bit of old world style - I liked the high ceilings and the chandelier in the room! The location was excellent, so close to KaDaWe (maybe a 2 minute walk) as well as numerous other shops and heaps of restaurants, and the U-Bahn. We stayed in the quad room which was a good size, with a queen and two single beds. The bathroom was a little small (obviously added in later with a lower ceiling), but it was all clean and well maintained. We did not purchase breakfast with our room, and found there were lots of bakeries and cafes nearby to buy something nice.

Although it is in a central part of Berlin, it is in a little cul-de-sac, which makes it a quiet place to stay and a pleasant place to walk around. We stayed here over New Year, so there were lots of lovely Christmas markets lining the roads nearby. New Years Eve in Berlin was an experience like none other for us Aussies - everyone everywhere was letting off fireworks from about 9pm until about 3am! So noisy, but something special - and my 17 year old son was delighted to buy some fireworks from the local shop and join in on the fun!

I would love to return to Berlin again one day and I would definitely stay here again!

This is a good basic hotel in an excellent location. The hotel is set back from the main streets so the rooms are quiet – especially the ones in the rear of the building. You are close to everything: bus, metro, shopping, great restaurants, etc. It’s very well run with nice helpful staff. I just really appreciate the smiles and greetings by everyone including the cleaning staff. Breakfast is basic yet certainly sufficient. My room was very comfortable and nice size although I can’t say that there was much character to the room.
Overall it’s an excellent value and very much recommended.

Room Tip: High floor rear of the buiding is the most quiet

Just returned from a visit to Comfort Hotel Auberge. What a good hotel. Smaller place on a side street right off of Wittenburgplatz. Literally 3 minutes from subway with many restaurants and a grocery store close by. Our room was beautiful and spacious with big windows. The bedding was nice and comfortable. Internet and television worked well. Internet was included in room rate. We opted to eat breakfast at the hotel -- there was a good selection of breads, cheeses, meats, fruits, yoghurt, cereals, and other items. The breakfast room itself is cheerful and bright and like the rest of the hotel, furnished traditionally. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We liked the laundry service, it's right in the hotel. This hotel was a good choice for us since it combined some of the services of a larger hotel with the cozy and intimate ambiance of a small one. Our room did not have a refrigerator. This was not really a problem for us but it might matter to some people.
