and I agree with much of this - but not all, so I would just like to counterbalance the rave reviews a bit, for whatever it's worth and for as long as this review will be high enough on the list that it will be read. :-)

Yes, the aquarium is nice, and to look at the fish is relaxing (although rooms towards the atrium mean air condition during the night, and no view of the outside weather). The location is really nice if one is busy in Mitte - tourism, some shopping and the nice Hackescher Markt neighborhood, the Berlin Madison Ave., with really good restaurants. I also found the staff uniformly friendly and trying; the front desk was always very nice, and all maintenance staff greeted the guests as if after some very good training. And I like the pool that allows lap swimming, which has good opening hours (6 am - 10 pm).

Why then just an "average" rating? Because all this may be as it is, but this is just not a ***** hotel by any standards - it is a **** one. Some of the general hotel amenities are ****, but the standard *rooms* (and these are not a cheap class but the main category) are definitely not; partially, they are even ***. And for me, the key to hotel is my room and not the public areas. Beds here are small, mattresses not that great, rooms are small (too small for two I think), the wifi (in a normal 4th floor room) often so weak it switched off (ipad, so the receiver was not the problem), a very inconvenient bathroom desk fromwhich things kept falling; a bad water and crane system that necessarily flooded the area with the stuff there; no reading lamps at the bed; and so on and so on.

Sure, this is way better than a Motel One and even for **** I would have found this probably okay. But the fact is that for the price the Radisson Blu demands, and seeing how much other hotels in this category cost - Berlin is not expensive for hotels - there is no correlation; one pays to much for small, inconvenient rooms. If one wants precisely this location and/or the fish tank and isn't fussy about rooms and sleep quality, one should go here, but if one looks for a genuine ***** hotel, one definitely can find a much better one in Berlin, and for less money.

Room Tip: View of the fish means no fresh air or daylight.

Perfect hotel with an exceptional lobby and very good facilities with great staff.
The bar is at the lobby from where you can have your drink and view the great fish tank. The room was very well equipped. The location is perfect. Exactly outside the hotel makes stop the Hop On Hop Off bus, across the street and behind the park there is an area full of nice restaurants and almost behind the hotel is the area.
The only problem we had was with the reservation. Although we had booked, one month before our arrival, a business room which had view of the Dom and the river (one of the reasons why we booked this hotel from the hotels official site ) at our arrival they told us that they did not have that kind of room and they gave us an “upgrade “ a suite on the first floor with a view of the street.
However we would stay again at this hotel ( if they would give us the room we have booked ) and we would recommended it.

The Radisson Blu in Berlin is just fantastic, I liked the aquarium in the middle of the hotel, the location is very good and you walk to most of the touristic places in Berlin. The room were very confortable, and the wifi free conection was good. I would have to say that although the breakfast was very good, it was expensive, I would recommend to have breakfast in near places.

Room Tip: The rooms looking to the aquarium inside the hotel are fantastic.

After staying one night at Friedrichshain we decided to stay one night at Radisson. And I think it was great. Aqaurium inside hotel really strikes. Although you can't enter the lift inside it if you're not a visitor of Berlin Aquadome. The staff was very friendly, room was clean and good. There was very-very small balcony. Alexanderplatz is about 7-10 minutes by walk. If you go other side you'll see many palce of interest. Breakfast was very good but at 10 AM staff takes out all food without asking if you want something else. Also if you like to sleep and forgot about breakfast - there are many small cafes near hotel. I think this hotel is nice place to stay in Berlin.

Great location, great breakfast, lovely helpful staff, brilliant cocktails, good clean rooms - what more do I need to say?

Room Tip: The hotel is build around a giant aquarium (which is quite spectacular) and the internal rooms look...

I have been to Berlin many times and stayed at different hotel. The Radisson Blu Hotel is a great choice for tourists (and businesspeople) because of its location. It is between the Branderburg gare, the museum island and the Hackeshermarkt. Most attractions are walking distance and even buses pass in front of the hotel.
The concierge was very helpful and my parents - first time in Berlin and non-german speakers - were able to book tours to the city and even Potsdam.
The lobby of the hotel has a very nice aquarium inside, people visit the hotel just for that.
The rooms were nicely sized and modern, no complaints there. There are smoking floors too, if anyone is interested. We were in a non-smoking one and it did not smell like smoke.
I did not get the breakfast but my parents did so I sat with them, it looked just fine, standard breakfast buffet affair.

The lobby aquariam is an appealing enough reason to choose the Radisson. The perfect location, situated close enough to museums, landmarks and all things touristy. Rooms are basic, lacked basic kitchen provisions such as a kettle and not the most exciting room to sit in. Gym facilities are excellent and concierge was helpful.
