“Good rooms and a really cool aquarium”
Reviewed 9 May 2012

This is a typical Radisson which means you will get a good quality hotel. The aquarium in the middle of the lobby is really impressive. The rooms are very good. Mine faced the street (6th floor) and I did not hear a thing. It is about a 10 minute walk from the closest train station which was a pain this trip because neither of my two bags had wheels. The food is good but not great but I prefer to get out of the hotel to eat so no complaints.

Impressive from the moment you walk in. Very helpful staff and reception staff very knowledgable. Free wifi - always a bonus.

Rooms were clean but clinical. If you want jellybeans every day you have to ensure you are good children and dont leave anything by the bedside as they seem to take that as a sign that you don't want your sweeties!

The spa was small, swimming pool was so small we didn't even bother.

The stay was marred by a security alert in the middle of the night, but was dealt with by the management with utmost professionalism, providing refreshment and blankets. Shame about the Japanese tourists that seemed to think cold, tired, scared guests in their nightwear were good photo opportunities though!

I'd recommend eating out for breakfast, the price in the hotel quite frankly is laughable for what they provide. There are plenty of places to eat around and about and for much better value.

Prices of drinks etc are comparable with the UK but be adventurous and try different beers even if they sound weird - you could be pleasantly surprised!

Very convenient for getting to most of the attractions, I would return, definitely

My Stay in this hotel was for three nights and my wife and child stayed with me. All my requests were taken care of, a crib/cot for my child and a kettle in the room.

The hotel is a good 10 minute walk from the nearest train station which services the airport.

The hotel itself is bright clean and welcoming. The 6 storey one million litre aquarium in the centre is amazing. You can request either a street view or an aquarium view room.

If you have to buy breakfast in the hotel, it's very expensive, €25 each, very over priced but there are plenty of eateries near by.

The concierge guys are very knowledgeable and helpful. The bar food is very good but limited choice. The local beer, Berliner, is one of the best German beers I have tried in a long time.

The health centre is a strange place. Very very limited number of lockers in change rooms, 10!! And they are incredibly small. The pool water is very cold. I take my child swimming every week, I if I stayed 3 minutes, that's all it was as he was shivering with the cold. The manager went missing when I went to complain. He is a bit of a chancer is the manager, he hides behind the company with an issue arises. He over charged my wife for spa treatments and only sorted his error when I got the general manager involved and an e mail to Radisson Europe HQ was sent.

Overall, its a decent hotel in the Radisson group, not as high up on my list as Radisson blu Vienna, or St Helens Dublin. If Berlin dropped the cost of breakfast by €8 - €10, the it would top my list. It's a child friendly hotel, but could have a bit more for kids.

I hope to return in the future.

Travelled to Berlin for a 2 night break. Hotel ideal location for cathedral, museums, Brandenburg gate etc. All of the staff we encountered were excellent and did all they could to accommodate our requests. It was great to get a room with a balcony so you could watch the world go by. The aquarium in the lobby/ bar area is stunning . Would recommend this hotel and hope to return

I loved my stay at this hotel. It has a great location, just across Museum Island and is a 5-10 minute walk from the train station. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the hotel set up was clean, modern and comfortable.

I always stay at this hotel when in Berlin. It is perfectly located in Mitte between the progressive Orienienburger Strip, and Old School Berlin a short stroll accross the parkland away. Its also close to the Major galleries etc.

The Hotel itself has excellent rooms, comfortable Beds and Duve's and a really well equipted bathroom.

The breakfast Buffet is as good as it gets, and the Lobby Bar
is always an interesting place for a drink, if you are travelling solo. The Gym and Sauna are also well equipted and clean.

All in all this is an excellent Busines style Hotel, with everything you could ask for.

Room Tip: The rooms on the Spree side of the Hotel offer excellent views of the Cathedral. Avoid rooms direct...
