“Wonderful Location & an Aquarium Too!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 May 2014

This ultra modern hotel has a 35 foot high aquarium in the lobby which is part of the National Aquarium across the street. Ask for a room that faces it and watch the fish swim by all day. Really cool. You can even take an elevator up through the center of the aquarium. The staff all speak English and are super helpful not only about the hotel, but about what to see around town. Perfect location for visiting Museum Island, Mitte and St. Nicolas District, all within walking distance. The tour boats for the River Spree dock right outside the hotel as do the hop on and off bus tours. The hotel spa is excellent with one of those pools where you swim against the current. The hotel breakfast is not included and expensive (35e) but there is a wonderful little patisserie just outside the hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room facing the aquarium.

Stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel was ideally located for walking and touring Berlin. The rooms were spacious and well appointed as one would expect at the higher end of the accommodation market. The staff pleasant and courteous. However, it seemed to take an age to check in and then our room was not ready. We left our bags and went for a walk around. This should not happen. We choose not to take breakfast at 25 euros per head so instead headed around the corner to a coffee shop for buttered croissant, pastry and coffee at 6 euros per head! Would certainly stay here again.

The location is perfect in the vicinity of Hackescher markt, so you couldn't ask for more central in Mitte, close to the Museum Island and all the sights on the banks of the Spree. The building has an impressive atrium with an interesting lobby bar and speedy lifts. Internet is free, but will not work on WiFi regardless of how patient you are. If you count on spending some time online during your stay, you will find the provided LAN cable connection indispensable. Breakfast, although pricey, was very convenient and of impeccable quality, including fantastic Mango Lassi and another interesting fruit and basil smoothie. Unfortunately for the smokers, no smoking rooms in the building despite what may be printed in some websites.

Room Tip: close to the elevator, the building is soooooo huge!

The hotel is very easy to get to from the airport. We got the airport express train to alexandraplaza.. Come out of the station turn left and the hotel is about 4 minute walk.

Check in was swift and hassle free. Everything was explained to us and we had to give our credit card to cover any extras for our stay. We had asked for tow rooms overlooking the fish tank, along with everyone else, so we were slightly disappointed when we did not get that, a, but to be honest we were nit expecting to spend a huge amount of time in the room anyway!

We elected not to have breakfast at the hitel as it was quite expensive and right next to the hitel there are loads of cafés where you can get breakfast a lot cheaper.

The drinks in the bar were quite expensive, buy you are laying 5 star city prices. The drinks are much cheaper next door in the alleyway.

The concierge is very helpful and we got our hop on hop off bus tickets from them.

The rooms are lovely, with free toiletries. The swimming pol and spa area is very good and a nice wind down after a hectic day.

A slight criticism would be the wifi. It was rather hit and miss. It kept kicking me off, but my husbands was able to surf for ages without being kicked off.

If we. One back to Berlin then I would defo stay here agin.

Room Tip: You have to try for a view of the fish tank......

This is the place to stay if you want to see Museums and central to all. Stayed there for 8 nights and we had a wonderful time at the Hotel, everybody was very helpful and from the reception to the bar. The rooms were very nice and and the quality of the construction is excellent, we stayed in the first floor overlooking the street and the room was super quiet. The spa is marvelous and the staff great, the gym is small but adequate for doing a basic workout. Breakfast was served both inside the restaurant as well as out in the bar area, the food was excellent, we also had a dinner or two and both times the quality was outstanding.

The only two issues that we had during our stay was the AC, which even at the minimum setting was to hot for us, that in part is a cultural issue both I would have expected a better system. The other issue was with an odor issue coming from several places including the bathroom and at some times the elevator shaft. Several of our friends also commented on this, and it might be because of the location of the hotel in the city. We did inform the staff and they did their best.

Overall I would not hesitate to stay back in the Radisson, and would highly recommend it. On a separate note we did not have nay issues with the Wifi staying there and both my computer and phone are Apple products.

Stayed for four nights during our trip to Berlin. We chose this location for its proximity to Museum Island. We took a Business Class room which gave us a stunning view of the Berliner Dom and the river Spree. This is an excellent location for many of the main sights of Berlin. The Aquarium that fills the lobby was a plus. The rooms are compact and well thought out. The bathrooms are excellent. Lobby and housekeeping staff are friendly and helpful. Great bedding and good toiletries and a Nespresso machine are major perks. The room came with breakfast- a significant savings- and the breakfast buffet was spectacular. The Heat restaurant is just so-so for dinner, but the food court just next to the hotel had something for every taste at far more reasonable rates.

Room Tip: Rooms either face the inner atrium or the river. The more expensive rooms are on the river. All of t...
