The tour was fantastic, very informative and very fun. My tour guide Nadin Middel was perfect for the job, she was so friendly, knew the answer to any question that was asked and also gave personal stories from her childhood living in Berlin which made the tour feel even more special.
The company behind the tour were very friendly and helpful, unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the initial tour I was booked onto due to a personal issue, I emailed them asking if there was anything they could do and they quickly rearranged the tour for me at no extra cost.

We are from Australia and wanted to know about the real history of Berlin. Our tour guide was Nadin Middell and we were lucky enough to be the only ones on this walking tour on 14th October 2013. Nadin drew on her own personal experience, the experiences of her own family and what she had been taught at University both in literature and in history. She was an historian who was fully prepared with laminated pictures, organised, intelligent, personable and totally knowledgeable and well informed on the subject. Not only did she know her city's history in depth she was able to impart the knowledge and information so well with her good command of the English language and interacted with Jim and I in the most friendly manner. We totally enjoyed the tour and the 5 hours went fast. We visited all the sites of historical interest, enjoyed Currywurst and the chocolate shop. Our feelings went from highs to lows to highs again, with some of her stories. We would recommend Nadin as the best tour guide - she was wonderful! Germany, and in particular Berlin, have been through such traumatic times but has now developed into a well respected country. We hope to return! Meladee

Wow, you could take five trips to Berlin and NOT learn 10% of what we saw and learned on these tours with Berlin Urban Adventures. Valentina spent the entire day with us and what a sweet person she is. Besides telling us about her family and personal anecdotes of her own life in Berlin (she is originally from northern Italy), she knows 4 languages and know amazing facts about Berlin. A visitor to Berlin really needs to know some of the historical facts to get the most out of their visit. Our morning with Valentina was spent in the Storyline tour and she told us a lot about the buildings, which are not just ordinary tall, rectangular, city buildings. There are many stories about the architects and the buildings of this amazing city that the average traveler would not get without this tour.
The Food and Art tour in Kreuzberg should not be missed. Valentina took us on this tour in the p.m. With this tour, besides the sights and sound of this unique ethnic part of Berlin, you also get exercise your sense of taste by eating your way through several small funky restaurants for various types of food/drink. Valentina negotiated our way through these food choices and neighborhoods.
In summary, our thought is that you should do at least one of these (both is better) and you definitely should request VALENTINA. If you haven't been to Berlin often, she really show you a lot in a short amount of time!

Our tour concentrated on the old East Berlin and its most recent history. Our tour guide, Nadin, was both knowledgeable and personable. She, obviously, knew the places and history of her city and university; however, she made the walk human through the stories she told of the people involved in Berlin's history. When she told of her own family and their lives through the past century she brought warmth to a sad time.

What a wonderful and highly original tour - one of the most interesting during my Trip to Berlin and i would highly recommend this to others. Many thanks to the lovely and friendly tour guide Valentina for showing me around. I think the previous reviewers of this tour summed it all up quite well but would add, if you are brave enough! to try the Black Widow Tomato Sauce to go with your Currywurst, oh, boy was this potent!!
Thanks Valentina
