“Excellent value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2013

Stayed here for a week, very good service, brand new room, nice bathtub, got robs and slippers. Probably the best breakfast I had in a hotel abroad. Don’t miss the pool area and huge Jacuzzi, fresh fruit is available near the pool. Good location, less than 10 m walk to KDV shopping mall and only a few m to the park.

I have spent the last 3 nights of March 2013 at the lovely hotel Intercontinental in Berlin with my family. The location of hotel is perfect, in a calm environment (which I love it) just a five minutes walk far from the Berlin's beautiful Aquarium and Zoo, shopping center and verity of restaurants and fast food shops, also easy access to bus station and U-bahn. There is a bus station right in front of the hotel to access airport and various part of city.
The Royal lobby of hotel with a very beautiful design is big enough to have space for relaxation, coffee shop, bar, shops, tour services, conference room and business center. The Hotel staff at reception and other places such as breakfast hall and tour desk are very polite and helpful to the guests, always smiling when handling your requests.
Rooms are quite big, with separate cloakroom, business desk, wifi and free internet with good speed, comfort mattress, coffee maker and TV/satellite channels. Bathroom includes bathtub and toilette with separate door. Cleanness of rooms are perfect.
A very nice free fitness room and swimming pool with an extra-charge of 15 Euro for saunas, Jacuzzi and relax-area in the ground floor with separate lift accessible from all floors are provided for convenience of guests.
And finally, I would like to offer my appreciation for the Royal breakfast, open from 7 to 11:30 every morning, including everything you wish to have and drink as a Royal breakfast for every taste.
I really experienced a luxury life at a very proper price during my stay in Intercontinental, Berlin.

Dear Shahab-Midas

thank you for sharing your experience with the InterContinental Berlin. I am pleased that you and your family had a good time in the bustling German capital also due to staying at our hotel. I will pass along your impressions to our teams.

The location of the InterContinental Berlin is close to main attractions and shopping streets and in a quiet side street at the same time. Berlin's largest park, Tiergarten, is also around the corner.

As you took advantage of a variety of features of the InterContinental Berlin, let me point you towards our Club InterContinental which includes breakfast, spa access as well as other amenities.

With that said, I wish you interesting travel experiences as well as a return to Berlin in the future.

Typically bussines hotel is located in the center of Berlin, just a few minutes walk from the main shopping street and the historic sights. The hotel staff was very professional, the breakfast was a great selection of hot and cold food. The average size of the rooms are comfortably furnished tastefully. The hotel is especially recommended for bussines trip was less suited to stay with children.

Dear Eleonora B

thank you for reviewing the InterContinental Berlin. We have recently been approved as family friendly hotel as we also offer features for our youngest guests. Nonetheless you are right, the majority of our guests are business travellers and we are perfectly equipped for their needs.

I will pass along your feedback concerning the breakfast to the L.A. Café team. They are looking into improvements continuously and will be happy to hear that their selection met your expectations.

My team and I look forward to your return in the future.

The rooms of this hotel seemed to be designed by someone who actually likes to stay in one and rather than settle for the normal solutions has come up with some great ideas to making living in a smallish space workable and fun. To start with there are large designed surfaces on which to open your cases which do not either collapse or block the room. There is a walk in wardrobe and an electric plug in the wall safe so that you can leave your computer or phone charging while you go out. The bathroom has a separate toilet with its own door. Then to go a step further one whole wall swivels around on castors to enable you to watch the TV in the bath. The office desk swings back to create a desk against the wall and the whole room is ergonomically designed to make you comfortable. There is a window in the bathroom that lets in natural light. It is at a level which means that people in the room can see you in the bath but some people might like that! The desk chair is comfortable and the sofa is elegant. The bath robes are large enough for a six foot man and the bath slippers big enough for someone with larger feet. How often have I stayed in hotels where these items do not fit me? The towels are luxurious and any toiletries you use are quickly replaced. The shower is a masterpiece.

The service throughout the hotel was thorough and polite, amicable without being over friendly, constant and reliable. Everything was clean, efficient, attractive and cared for.
The Concierge recommended perfect restaurants and gave excellent directions to anyplace I needed to go.
The Spa was similarly luxurious with its own fast lift. The swimming pool was large enough to swim in and very clean. Unlike some hotels it was open for long hours. The room rate was very reasonable for this class of hotel and there were no hidden extras. Check out was fast and easy. I would certainly stay there again.

We don't usually stay in such upscale places, and this hotel seems tailored for folks with more disposable income than us. We enjoyed much of the luxury, but some things seemed overpriced just for their own sake. Large, thick, plush towels and robes (though none for kids) and great shower. FAST elevators. Room service = good but expensive. Nice pool to swim short laps or splash around, but hot tub lukewarm. Spa/sauna cost extra. Breakfast was varied and fresh (& included in our price -- terrific!), and there was plenty of room in a suite for 2 adults and 2 children (though difficult to book because they're only equipped for 3 in a room...families are not the norm). Staff was friendly, but room wasn't cleaned until early evening. Parking = 26 EUR/night

Internet worked well, but only 1 hour free. Espresso machine in room hard to set up and sprayed coffee everywhere if we didn't hold nozzle down. Concierge pushed one particular city tour bus company and 2-day pass when we found out later one day was plenty and other cheaper buses had perks. Last disappointment was that our upper floor room was very loud late at night on weekend--seems to come from party or club(?)

Loved the location and enjoyed walking around and hitting the zoo.

Dear mjcBeijing,

thank you for staying with us and for sharing your experiences with the InterContinental Berlin.

I would like to add some aspects to your feedback. Whenever you need anything during your stay, please do not hesitate to contact our teams. I am confident that we are able to offer you with a solution in most cases. For example, we have bathrobes for children which we provide upon request. Additionally, you have the possibility to connect to our free basic internet again after the first hour.

I will forward your feedback to our concierges so that they are able to adapt their offer accordingly. Also I would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused by the noise you experienced. We do not have a club in our hotel, but there are occasional private celebrations at our Michelin star restaurant Hugos on the 14th floor. In general, the InterContinental Berlin is a quiet hotel as all public areas are apart from our rooms.

With that said, I still hope that you enjoyed your stay at our hotel as your description of our breakfast and your suite indicates.

Dear levyneni

it is a pleasure to read that you spent five relaxing days with us and that you enjoyed our facilities such as the SPA InterContinental - which has been awarded with the European Design Award.

Our location provides easy access to different sights and parts of Berlin. Especially bus no 200, leaving right in front of our hotel, takes you directly to Potsdamer Platz or even deeper into City West.

Thank you for your review. Upon your next stay, you might want to consider our Club InterContinental which includes snacks and drinks and further benefits.
