We came across Tauro by pure happeninstance - it was the nearest restaurant to the subway station on a cold evening. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm spacious interior...the downstairs is a Spanish tapas which looked busy however we opted for steak in the upstairs part. The restaurant upstairs was large and airy...we were seated and the menu had a good selection [and price range] of steak. I had a Argentinian steak with spinach and tomato. It was cooked to perfection [medium] and the spinach and tomato was a tasty accompaniment. We also ordered a bottle of Malbec [my favourite with steak] and it was delicious and reasonably priced. The bill came to around €110 for 3 main courses with side orders, water and one bottle of wine. The waiting staff were attentive without being overbearing and the over all evening there was lovely.

We went for a 60th birthday and everyone had a good time - atmospheric with blue and orange lighting and sculptures, menu leans towards good steaks and seafood. Prices are high, but the staff is helpful and doesn't rush; portions are ample. 180g filet was nicely done; desserts are quite nice. http://www.tauro-berlin.de/

To get here take the U2 - get pff at Senefelder platz and its pretty much just across the street.

We ordered 5 tapas, 2 Pintxos and 3 servings of paella for 4 people.
This was more than enough as we were also brought bread to begin with.

Tapas - the best tapas we had were little potatoes with dip, meatballs with spicy sauce.

Pintxos - don't order pinxtos, they are same as bars in Spain but not quite as good. You only get 1 piece of whatever you order.

For a large restaurant the service was a bit slow given the number of staff.
Our dinner for 4people with drinks cost us €25 each with a small tip included.

First of all, this restaurant is at least two restaurants. On the street level you have a spanish Restaurant, the "Tauro Iberico". We visited the "Grill", the Tauro Angus, upstairs on the second level. In the summer time you also have a beergarden restaurant, outside the Tauro Angus. You can enter the restaurant on street level and you find yourself in the spanish restarant. Critics about that one are already writen in here, and I realy cant say anything about the food here. But the ambience is sort of great, ostentatious might be the right word. Next time we book a table in this part and enjoy the tapas.
But this time we were directed upstairs an overwelming stairway (not to heaven, but close) to the "Grill". Breathtaking interior, like downstairs. Friendly waiters led us to the (reverved) table and less than a minute after we sat down, we already had the menus. Attentive waiters, fast service, nice decent music, and superd food. After the aperitif we ordered the starters, and different kind of steaks. There was no problem to make out of a normal pasta main dish (they offer next to beef italian inpired pastas) a starter for two on seperated plates. The fresh wild mushroom consommé was created and fished at the table - plate with the fresh mushrooms and herbs and a bowl with the consommé. All starters were delicious.
We ordered different steaks, rump steak, rip eye steak, filet Steak from Argentina, Canada and USA. Wonderful meat, brilliant prepared, grilled to the ordered point (medium ++ or medium -), smooth as silk - JUST VERY VERY GOOD! Instead of desert we ordered Cognac and Espresso. We had a wonderful evening, execellent food and drinks, and we were 100% satisfied. Just one thing we didn't like (not we don't yell about the bill - quality does cost a bit!): A thing that happens often in Berlin, you have many russian customers, and who ever meet russians in a restaurant, knows what I'm talking 'bout.
We go there again, And again, and again - very good place, try it. Do yourself a favour, reserve a table.

The entrance is through their deli part (bit odd),greeted by waitress who asked if we had reservation which we hadn't,asked if we were having Tapas or Steak ,chose Steak and she took us up the big staircase and sat us down at a table for two, prompt service from the waiter who took our order and the food (I had chicken breast and my wife had steak medallion)we both really enjoyed our meals,it is got an unusual decor (the steel girders)but we liked it anyway, their drinks are a bit pricey i thought but oh well..nice Restaurant..
