My partner is pedal biking from the UK to Greece and having met him in Berlin, we spent 6 nights at the Huttenpalast. I can thoroughly recommend this wacky hotel and superb location. It was a fantastic experience; bedroom was spacious, uncluttered, modern and airy with a very comfortable, restful large bed, bathroom sparkling white and spotlessly clean.
All the staff were friendly, helpful and always ready to give advice on places to visit. The food was delicious; breakfast choices included bacon and eggs, yogurt and muesili plus an excellent variety of teas. Favourite foods were definitely the luscious homemade deserts and cakes, warm rhubarb meringue, mouth wateringly delicious and of course calorie free! Evening meals are also available on certain days and the asparagus risotto we sampled was very tasty.
The whole atmosphere of the hotel is eccentric, stylish and uniquely refreshing, indoor caravans and camping just add to the attraction. Brilliant location with a U-Bahn station and bus stop 5 mins away, 30 mins walk to the East Side Gallery, canal strolls, street markets and quirky bars, all of which offer a glimpse into a fascinatingly alternative and rather Bohemian area of Berlin.
We shall definitely be returning and loved the whole experience.

Very welcoming staff and very special place to stay. Good atmosphere, peaceful. We stayed one night in a room for three and second night in a cottage called Tallhütte. Both of them very good choice. Shared bathrooms very neat. Definitely would go again!

Sleeping in a caravan indoors? Yep. The indoor camping area was really cool and decorated in a quirky way, perfect for Berlin. The trailers were really well restored and super clean, and the communal bathrooms were a Haleluja moment. Breakfast was fab- a feast for the eye and the palate. The owners are so helpful and friendly and ready to give you all the best tips for a unique Berlin experience. Danke, danke danke!

Room Tip: A stay in a caravan is a must, but if you are staying more nights you might want to try the normal...

We stayed for 3 nights in one of the lovely caravans. The concepts is wonderful and absolutely beautifully achieved. It's a really cool space that they have created. The bed was very comfy and the van was warm, even though it was freezing temperatures outside. The shower was excellent - really warm and powerful. The area is cool with a brilliant bar a few doors down on the same street.

We were a bit disappointed by the tiny croissants and poor quality coffee provided for breakfast. I expected more for the price.

We mixed it up, staying in the hotel part for 3 nights, then moving to cabins for the last 2 nights. It was a great balance. The hotel rooms were clean, new, comfortable & quiet. The indoor camping was beautiful, quirky & fun. We loved the little chairs and tables next to our cabins & sitting on the window seat watching the snow falling, while sipping coffee & nibbling tasty mini croissants. The warehouse was a comfortable temperature while it was chilly outside. The shared bathrooms (separate girls & boys) were new and clean and a good place to meet the other guests! The cafe served delicious and cheap food, plus there are numerous restaurants & cafes nearby. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay at Huettenpalast next time we go to Berlin & will recommend to all our friends.

We only stayed at Huettenpalast for one night whilst the Christmas Markets were on in Berlin, but wish we could have stayed longer!
It's a five minute walk from the nearest train station (U-Bahn) and quite easy to find.
Staff were very welcoming and were so enthusiastic about what they had created - and so they should be. Walking across the courtyard into the place where the caravans were, I didn't expect much ... but on opening the door, it was beautiful! There has been a lot of love and time spent on this place and it shows.
Quirky little nick-nacks decorate the room under a beautiful orange glow of fairy lights and unique lights, with a large tree as a centre piece to the room. It's clean, pristine but still manages to feel so homely and warm.
We stayed in the Kleine Schwester, a beautiful caravan up on a patio, surrounded by trees, lined with wooden blocks and dimming lights for it's interior. It is surprisingly very roomy, with plenty of room under the bed for suitcases. And considering it was -2 outside, you wouldn't know in this caravan ... so warm! Breakfast was another delight ... woke up to find hot fresh croissant hung from the central tree in pretty little individual bags, a bowl of fruit, a box with a selection of teas, milk, proper mugs ... perfect!
Washing facilities were also top notch - separate for males and females, shared but absolutely immaculate. And I think one of the nicest showers I've had whilst on holiday ... powerful and hot!
I've fallen in love with this place and really hope to go back soon ... it's a MUST for anyone sightseeing in Berlin!

Room Tip: Any of the caravans or cabins ... they're all uniquely designed, each with something a little di...

This place is soo cool. We found them through a website and not being your ordinary hostel/hotel we were abit worried about what it was going to be like. When we got there we fell in love and wished we could of stayed there for longer. We stayed in one of the caravans and loved it. Even though they were small it forced us to go mingle with the other people staying there in a cute lounge room. It was very funky. They had a record player that worked, free wifi, free mints and were brought a crossaint and cup of tea every morning which would hang on the tree. Everyone was so friendly and the place was super clean. It was close to hipster cafes and close to the train. Please dont be frightened by how far away it is from the city as the train is super qucik. Can not rave about this place enough.... Go there, you will not regret it!
