“"Classic a la Carte Dine and Dream"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2013

We booked the full package which started with a visit to the castle, followed by dinner and a concert in the Grosse Orangerie. An atmospheric evening with plenty of pomp and ceremony, letting one imagine what it must have been like at the former court of the Prussian kings and queens. The set dinner menu, was, however, not outstanding, but service and musical interludes made up for that.

Following the dinner we moved through to our seats for the concert featuring the Berlin Palace Orchestra who played music from Händel, Bach, Mozart and Vivaldi as well as some opera excerpts. The flautist, in particular was excellent and extremely talented.

Price-wise for us this was average as currently living in Copenhagen, just going to the opera or a concert costs a lot more that this entire evening of dinner and music at Charlottenburg!

“Dinner and music”

All done in great atmosphere and staff clearly enjoying it. Worth the money. Can be combined with a visit to the palace.

“Classical Music Done Well”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2013

There is nothing better than enjoying the pomp and ceremony of the evening. Everything was visually beautiful and the food was delicious. One could imagine the king coming any minute. However, when the music began, the focus was on the musicianship. In this relatively small setting, the octet was under scrutiny. My family and I were impressed with the virtuosity of the players and singers, and the music selections. My two grandsons in their early 20s thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening as did their uncle and I.

“Very atmospheric”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2012

A dinner and concert at the Orangerie was a great experience, At the dinner, don't expect a very sophisticated menue but it is really about the atmosphere, the interior and the dressed up hosts which take you centuries back. The concert is wonderful and will likely please even those who are not otherwise big classic music fans. They try to make the programme varied - with instrumental and opera pieces interchanging. The costumes are a treat for the eye and enjoying the music in a matching atmosphere of a royal orangerie creates a very special experience.
I recommend this, if you want a different experience in Berlin.
