My husband and I plus two other couples spent along weekend at the hotel. Lovely clean modern hotel with well equiped gym and a small swimming pool (nice and warm). The room was very spacious again very modern looking. Found the bed and pillows to be very comfortable and spacious. Light airy bathroom with a bath and a powerful shower over it. Did not eat there went out each morning for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoyed are stay very much. Would go back!

Room Tip: I like a nice firm bed and soft pillows and got what I wanted at this hotel however doesn't alwa...

The Grand hotel Esplanade is a wonderful hotel. Check in was effortless. Room size was large as was the bath. Hotel was very busy but sleeping was not disturbed by noise. The central location to the park and town center was walkable. Getting a cab was never an issue as there is a cue off the lobby. This hotel was a wonderful value.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the park are wonderful.

My husband and I stayed here for a portion of our honeymoon. It was very clean. The decor was modern and up to date. It was a little walk to the center of things but certainly walkable. We enjoyed our stay here.

I and my daughter were at this hotel for a week, arriving on Sunday, June 17th and leaving on Sunday, June 24th/2012. The room and bathroom were spacious, a very comfortable king size bed with wonderful pillows and real eiderdowns and a marvellous breakfast make it a nice choice of a hotel in Berlim. I remind readers breakfast has to be booked on line, since then it costs fifteen euros, vs. 22 if you don't do it. Wifi is expensive, at 49 euros for a week service for one piece of equipment. The staff is very helpful and speak good English. Toiletries are good quality and replaced every day. Complimentary bathrobes and slippers if you use the swimming pool and/or spa. There are taxis available all the time and since they are quite inexpensive in Berlim, it is very convenient for moving about in the city. The restaurants and bars in the hotel are not so expensive as I was led to believe, and are quite convenient after a long day sightseeing. There are some points I would like to complain about, though. First, the windows are not protected with insufilm, and there were neighbours gawking at our room and waving at us, obliging us to remain in the dark, with the curtains closed every time it happened . And dark is dark, because the lights are few and very low wattage. There also was a problem with an inexpensive item (a mechanical pencil) which disappeared from my bedside table. Even being something very cheap, from then on we had to close and lock all our things in the suitcases before going out.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher levels are for smokers but rooms in lower levels are open to neighbours watching you...

The Hotel is set on the banks of a quiet canal, 15 minutes walk to the Tiergarten and the same to the exciting new city around Potsdam platz. nearest Metro only 15 minutes away too, towards the old centre of West Berlin.
It is a business hotel but catered well to a private trip. Modern and impressive reception, good swimming pool. The Buffet breakfast was great with huge choice.
the room was quite large with a great view and very comfortable.

Room Tip: Get a riverside room, the views are great.

In general the Hotel was ok, but the prices are too high for what you get. First the lack of information is not good. The Internet is not free, you must pay every single item (for example one lap top and one mobile phone, so 2 items) one hour nearly 4 Euro internet. It just says access to high speed internet on the online booking but just in the room you see the price for it. So that is bad really....I would go there for a private trip again. This hotel is pure for business not for private trips to explore the city. If you make a business trip this Hotel is the best one.
We had honeymoon in that Hotel and it was not good for that occasion. So dont go there if you have private trips. Breakfast is ok, service ok. Next time I wouldn book there anymore.

A very pleasant hotel located in a quiet place. The room is spacious and fully equipped. The Hotel Staff was very courteous and helpful. Located near the park Tiergaten and about four blocks from the metro. There are not many dining options nearby, but the Sony Center is about 15 minute walk or a short cab ride.
PROS: spacious room, excellent breakfast, helpful Staff.
CONS: very expensive wifi internet, location is not excellent, room service prices above average.
I would stay again
