We had the management suite which has a spacious bedroom and a separate lounge with small kitchen. Separate bathroom and toilet. Free in-room wifi with good signal. Reception is helpful but not as knowledgeable as a hotel concierge.

Good price and really enjoyed it.
dreamlike breakfast in 8. floor lounge, with a majestic view over Berlin.

Best central location lafayette , französische strasse, unter den linden only a few minutes to go.
also the lower friedrichstrasse with its sceneful boutics and shops.
love it and come again when we stay in berlin

I completely agree with everything that "freshairfan" said in their previous review. The accomodation was flawless, as was the help provided by the attentive staff. Breakfast is amazing and the cost of staying here is extremely reasonable. A great location too. Cannot be faulted in any way whatsoever.

We stayed in a management suite on the fifth floor for 6 nights, and could not find a single thing to complain about. We had a separate bedroom, with a sliding (pocket) door to the living room (shut at night but open during the day), a kitchen and a luxurious bathroom with an enormous tub. Excellent toiletries. The draperies worked beautifully to darken the room at night, and the floor-to-ceiling windows opened both at the top and side to give great ventilation. For everything we received, the price was reasonable (150 Euros/night).

The bed (kingsize) was perfect -- not overly firm and not too soft and the bedding was high quality. Windows overlooked a street combining older buildings with carved facades and modern architecture. The room was quiet; we heard no noise from neighbors or from the street. Breakfast was outstanding -- a fantastic selection of meats, cheeses, pastries, great yogurts with muesli, eggs, even outstanding coffee and cappuccino -- and in a beautiful room with a view of the rooftops in the area. We commented on the pastries since they were so extraordinarily good, unlike the typical fare, and found out that they get them fresh every morning from one of the best bakeries in town. That commitment to quality showed in every aspect.

Newspapers in several languages, including the International Herald Tribune, were available in the breakfast room.

The location in the Mitte can't be beat: a 2-minute walk to the Gendarmenmarkt with two beautiful churches and the concert hall and outdoor cafes (and almost constant live music by groups outside these cafes), and 1/2 block to the underground. The hotel is located in a business/retail section, which is a bit surprising, but so close to the cafes and restaurants of the Gendarmenmarkt area (which clearly attracts both locals and tourists) that it feels very homey.

You can walk almost everywhere if you have good shoes, even to the beautiful and artsy Prenzlauerberg (about 3 miles, or an hour on foot). The Mandala Suites a concierge, but the staff on the first floor are extremely helpful. (We bought full-day metro passes from them directly, which was very useful.) We didn't check to see if room service was available, but with cafes and restaurants everywhere, and the amazing breakfasts, you won't want it. They have a small fitness area with a sauna which looks quite nice (we peeked in) but we didn't use it. Wifi (very good signal) was available at a reasonable price if you purchase a whole week, and somewhat less reasonable at a daily rate. This would be the one thing I would encourage the management to reconsider.

I've stayed in dozens of great hotels in Europe, India, Japan, So. America, the U.S. and this is one of my favorites.

Berlin is an amazing cosmopolitan city, and this is the best place to stay in our opinion. We loved this hotel and plan to return.

One tip -- we highly recommend visiting the Stasi Prison (Hohenschönhausen Memorial Center) on the outskirts of Berlin. This was one of the most interesting and moving parts of our trip. http://berlin.barwick.de/sights/east-berlin/hohenschoenhausen-memorial-center-prison-museum.html.

Room Tip: Ask for a management suite on a high floor.

Perfect location next to Gendarmenplatz for a very large room/suite with kitchen facility. Quiet area. Be aware that no front office clerks are available after 9pm. Good quality/price option.

Stayed in the Management Suite - a large, spacious and very elegant apartment with good size bedroom and walk in wardrobe to store you luggage away. Separate WC is a nice bonus for those girls, who love long bubble baths to unwind after a busy walking day about the city. Fitness is small but rather well thought through, as well as the wellness zone, one thing lacking though is a bench to drop you things and get dressed after - had to stand balancing on one foot. Breakfast is great and with a fab view over the city. A great start for a day. A friendly and hardly noticeable staff were fantastic. If you arrive late your key card is stored with the security who will guide you up to your room. We also ordered opera tickets to be delivered to the hotel – they were waiting for us together with the key card on the night of arrival. Very thoughtful. The location is great for walking around Berlin Mitte and riding just about everywhere else. The hotel offers free bicycle rent. Highly recommend to anyone who does not want to pay top dollar and yet get all the best from one of the most dynamic cities in Europe.
