After a shocking journey across europe we arrived late at the hotel and were greeted by a great reception team who welcomed us warmly, cracked a few jokes and were incredibly helpful. The hotel is in a great location and was a perfect base for a brief trip for Berlin's amazing cycle ride.

The Mercure was perfect for our needs. It is within a pleasant walking distance from the Pergamon and other museums, Under den Linden, and the Brandenburg gate, not to mention only a couple blocks from the Checkpoint Charlie Museum. It is also an quick cab ride from the main train station. The staff was helpful with any questions we had and the room was fine. No complaints.

I stayed here last week for four nights on a city break with my son. The room was large, very clean and the bathroom with its walk in shower is lovely. The breakfast is great and there is a huge choice. The location is very central, close to all the big sights. The room was quiet. My only criticisms are that I could not find any written information on things like check out time, air conditioning etc. There was no complimentary water-everything was rather expensive from the mini bar but you can get the same things at a third of the price from the supermarket round the corner. Also our coffee machine did not work and the lady behind the desk was not very helpful and also a little grumpy. She told us nothing could be done until the housekeeping staff came on the next morning. she did say I could get a cup of water from the bar but I felt that transporting cups of hot water through the hotel was slightly risky. In the end the lady at the bar was helpful and gave me a jug of hot water. However this was no use as the coffee for the machine is in special sachets. I did like the hotel but probably would stay elsewhere next time

Room Tip: Our room faced an inner courtyard which was quiet but I would have preferred to look out onto the st...

I recently stayed at this hotel for four nights while on vacation with my boyfriend. Overall I would recommend staying at this hotel.

The location is very convenient - just 2 blocks away from Checkpoint Charlie, easy access to the metro, and no more than a 10-20 minute walk from most of the "main sites" in Berlin. We took a taxi from the airport (TXL) which cost about 25 Euro. We took public transport back to the airport (the metro and then the airport bus - that whole endeavor took 1.5 hrs from when we left our hotel to when we got to the airport, not sure I would recommend it). There are several restaurants and cafes within walking distance of the hotel.

We were upgraded for free to an apartment style room. By European standards it was large. There was a small kitchenette area with table, a sitting area, and the bed area. We had a refrigerator in our room (not sure if that is standard) which we kept some groceries in for quick breakfast or lunch. The bathroom was large and there was a nice amount of counter space. The bed was comfortable. Others have commented on the noise from construction nearby, but it was not a problem for us. Honestly there is so much construction in Berlin you would be hard pressed to find a hotel not near any work areas. Room was clean.

The room did not include internet or free breakfast. For the price point it seemed like at least internet should have been complimentary.

The front desk staff were friendly, but I felt as if some of their answers to questions were a little vague. For example, when we checked in, we were told we were in the apartment section of the hotel which had a separate entrance. The staff instructed us to go outside and go right, then another right to the entrance. We ended up circling the block and returning to the main lobby for more specific directions. The staff responded excellently, walking us to the door herself. The entrance was an unmarked large wooden door a couple down from the main hotel. We would not have found it on our own based off the initial instructions. Overall the staff was helpful and informative, but it took a little effort to get questions answered thoroughly.

I enjoyed staying in the apartment section of the hotel. It felt like our own non-touristy residence since we only went into the main lobby to use the internet or speak with staff.

I would stay here again if I returned to Berlin and would recommend this hotel to a friend.

We had two double rooms and stayed for 7 nights. We found the rooms very pleasant, quiet, and comfortable (one slightly larger than the other), with very comfortable beds. The bathrooms very very nice, although there was only a shower, and not a bathtub. There was also an espresso machine in the room, which we used every morning for our first coffee! Breakfast was excellent, but relatively expensive (18 Euros) and we didn't always want such a large breakfast, so on some of the days we had breakfast at cafes in the area (for example along the Gendarmen Markt square, which is very close by). Location is very central, easy to get to most sites. Shopping areas and even a supermarket not far away.

I've staied for 5 nights at this Mercure Hotel with my wife
The hotel follows the good standards by Mercure, spacious rooms, simple decor .
It's very well located near CheckPoint Charlie area with easy access to the main tourist attractions
But the major problem is the service, specially the front desk team. All the time I've asked for a information about a tourist information like a restaurant location, at the end I prefered to look by myself at the internet or into the tourist guide.
