My wife and I have been staying at this hotel for many many years on our regular visits to wonderful Berlin. The hotel has never dissappointed me. The room we got on this occasion was very big, with TV, coffee maker with supplies of tea and coffee, toilet and shower in separate rooms. We didn't have the hotel breakfast but there are numerous options nearby. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The lobby has plenty of seating, ideal when waiting to go somewhere, waiting for friends, taxis etc. The hotel is very near Koche Strasse and Stadmitte U Bahn stations. The beautiful Gendarmenmarkt is just a few minutes walk away. Checkpointb Charlie is obviously very near also. There is a not a lot of night life in this area but the transport links are excellent. The Entrecote Restaurant nearby is worth a visit, as is Newton's Bar on Gendarmenmarkt.

We stayed here for 3 nights just before Christmas as we booked a last minute trip to the Christmas markets and sightseeing in Berlin. This hotel couldn't have been better located for both. It was only a couple of minutes walk to the beautiful Gendarmenmarkt where the prettiest Christmas market is held. Definitely take a stroll into the beautiful chocolatier here Fassbender & Rausch. The hotel is also located a couple of minutes walk in the other direction from Checkpoint Charlie. The Brandenburg Gate is no more than a 20 minute walk from the hotel.
The hotel looks quite unassuming from the front and the reception is small but the service is efficient and we were upgraded to an apartment on arrival. This was very spacious and had a fridge, small hob and microwave if you were so minded to use it.
We didn't book breakfast and we found a lovely bakery just around the corner from the hotel and filled up there in the mornings.
Easy to get to on public transport from the airport. Public transport is very clean and efficient.

I recently stayed at the Mercure for 3 nights and loved it. The room was large, with a wooden floor, small balcony and a capsule coffee machine. Metro stations and restaurants were nearby. Breakfast looked expensive but there is a very nice bakery/coffee shop on the side street.

Having never stayed at a Mercure Hotel before, I was hesitant when I booked this, but the reviews on Trip advisor convinced me to try it. I am glad I did - the stay exceeded our expectations. I was travelling with my wife and two boys, and we booked the family room. It was HUGE! There were two large rooms separated by a hallway, with a shower and sink room and a separate toilet and sink room off the hall way We had a nice balcony overlooking a courtyard. The rooms were very, very quite.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations.

The breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety and some menu options changing daily. (for example, crepes were served one day) They even offered freshly squeezed OJ. I recommend getting a B&B rate if available.

The location was great, centrally located.

The internet was OK, not great speed, but it worked for email and simple browsing. The TV had a very wide variety in multiple languages.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Had a very big room, with a very comfortable bed. We were worried that we might find it noisy as we our room was right at the elevator on the 5th floor, but were surprised at how quiet the room was. Clean, good wifi, good location for walking, and to Underground.
We didn't have breakfast here, as, like at many Mercure and Novotel hotels, they charge a fortune for breakfast.
