This hostel was our first for our InterRail trip around Europe. We didn't know what to expect, but the hostel is nice, massive pillows, but generally clean. There seemed to be large school groups which was annoying, but the outside patio area was really great. The only flaw was the building work which was going on, and the lack of showing around. But all in all it was a nice hostel for the price too. The location is a bit of a walk from te centre but you can easily get to the S Bahn or U Bahn!

We stayed at Pegasus Hostel for 6 nights. We were a big bunch so we booked a room with 6 beds. From what I understood the hostel is divided in too areas. The old one and the new one and we stayed at the old section of the building. It is a huge hostel but a bit messy. We didn't really mind I guess, we hardly stayed at the room. The toilets were average but that was to be expected. We really enjoyed the yard of the hostel where they have tables and benches to sit, and since the weather was so good these days we spent each morning there.
It is really close to Alexanderplatz which was very convenient.
If you have a low budget and wish to stay near the center Pegasus hostel is a good choice I guess.

Room Tip: If it still exists, try some of their asparagus soup. We all really enjoyed this dish!

i stayed in a 10 bed dorm with my boyfriend and we loved it. everyone was lovely and talkative and we didnt have a problem with anyone. beds are spaced out, and there two showers, a wash area, and a toilet in the the bathroom, all separate. it was very clean. had to make our own beds which i hate. cosy beds though! the directions to get to the hostel are AWFUL. you walk out the BACK ENTRANCE of ostbahnhof, you'll see a square with a kebab stall or two, carry on down the road like 10 minutes, just straight, and you'll see a big yellow and blue building. you'll cross a road and all, stick to the left side but keep going straight the whole way. theres huge garden in the hostel which is lovely to sit out in and have a few drinks. theres a lidl in the ostbahnhof with very cheap booze, also theres a mini-mart across the road from the hostel with very cheap booze too. the wifi was terrible. the hostel was too far away from anything for my liking. friendly staff, all young so they helped us find places to go out, and drew everything out on the map for us.

Very close to Alexanderplatz,so the location is good, but all the rest isn't. The hostel itself is big,but very very dirty,as the rooms,no places like living rooms to sit down and chill a bit, bathrooms on the floors are orrible and everybody who works there seems to be very annoyed by you beeing a custumer. I wouldn't advice it...there are so many places in Berlin as cheap as this one,but much more nicer.

Pegasus Hostel B, Manager at Pegasus Hostel, responded to this review, 27 June 2013
Dear guest,

thanks for you review. Pegasus also noted that there`s a lack of common rooms and space to meet other guests and people. For this reason we will open our new reception in 2 weeks and there will be space to seat down, to chat and to drink with other travellers.
The other points you wrote down we will look after it and increase them. With best regards. Pegasus Managment

Pegasus hostel is located quite a distance from the city centre which meant frequent trains were required. This was an added cost but was accomodated by the low price of the rooms. Our dorm room was large and spacious though there was no wi-fi in our room. Aside from this there was a friendly atmosphere throughout the hostel and we couldn't complain.

I stayed with a group of 27 people at the Pegasus Youth Hostel. We experienced a very friendly and caring staff team. We had quite a complicated time trying to find housing for a group our size at the last moment. But the Pegasus staff were flexible and sought to make sure we had exactly what we needed to make our stay enjoyable. I was impressed with the quality of service all the way around. The general manager made time to personally meet me and several others from our group. The front desk staff personnel were friendly and helpful. The staff that helped us to use the seminar room were warm and friendly as well. Overall our group was satisfied with our accommodations. Most of us stayed in the dormitory style rooms. Though this type of room is basic (most cost effective for the size of group we had), we found that it met our need. The rooms and hallways were clean. The rest of our group stayed in the double rooms that included a TV, shower, and WC. These rooms were quite nice! It added an extra measure of privacy to have a shower and WC in the room. Our entire group enjoyed the breakfast that was offered by the Pegasus as well. It had both hot and cold food. There was always plenty of coffee, food, and drinks. If there was a need, the staff were there to meet that need. Our group also enjoyed the use of the seminar rooms that the Pegasus offered. These rooms were a great space to host our group meetings. These rooms were also very clean and very user friendly! Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and we plan to come back in the on the month of May and June with two more groups.

There is a lot of bad reviews for this place, but you get what you pay for! Too many people seem to think they can pay 15 euros for a night a hostel, and expect to be walking into a 5 star hotel. If your looking for a cheap night and to socialise with people from all around the world, then this place is perfect. We went during the Berlin Beer Festival and this place couldnt be in a better location! I agree that the staff weren't the most helpful, but you try working for minimum wage and listening to fussy tourists moan about how they expect to pay very little yet still stay at the best.
